Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft reminding gamers that they have done a “180″

And nothing prevents them from doing a 180 again after a few years...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Good move by microsoft. They are informing customers about their policy change. But still it seems a desperate approach to me. Is pre order number than low in NA? Here is the pic.

But when sony poke them they are unprofessionals?

Sony did the poking in right and smart way. Why are you mentioning sony's actions here? Its a bit strange.

This will happen. After they have a good install base for Xbox One they will slowly start to implement DRM again. They will launch full scale DRM if the "small" DRM gets successful

Honestly, all they would need to do is introduce a new Digital only version of the Xbox One (with no disk-tray) and they can have all the DRM they want.

People, just ignore DJEVOLVE. It's appearent that he's in ultra defence mode trying to reply to every post he doesn't like, effectively derailing the thread in the process.

Moving onto the topic at hand, off course Microsoft will not mention the draconic plans they first published, seen as how they backfired, but informed gamers will still see through this fake PR move. This is a corporation that deserves to fail and go into the oil business or something where these kind of tactics are more common.

This is every console makers and game developers ultimate dream. But it wont be successful. It wont be successful unless people accepts digital only games.

Plus internet speed isnt good enough all around the world. In near future we will be getting 50-80+ gb games. For digital only they have two options. They are.
a) Download the whole game.
b) Stream the whole game.

That future is a long way to go. Unless internet speed dramatically increases all over the world or at least in US, Europe and some parts of Asia digital only consoles wont get any momentum.

My favorite part, "Your Schedule: ....with XBox One, you can suspend and resume gameplay instantly...."

Seriously? Isn't that the "Pause/Start" button on any controller or game?

Come I dont care if this was XB or PS, thats really one of their top arguments for getting an XB One?

Im sure Nintendo didn't even make that point back on the NES.

I'm pretty sure that's what Microsoft was going for with the Xbox One, or at least a half-assed attempt at it with ridiculous limitations.
