A lot of things go against GT6. It releases after the start of the next generation, it's not a huge gamechanger over GT5, especially not after just a quick glance, an obvious hint at a PS4 coming does not help as well. A lot of the early adopters of next-gen platfroms are going to sell or pretty much ditch their current gen consoles after GTA V. I also don't see a lot of positive buzz and hype around it.

That said, I don't believe vgchartz preorders one bit, cause you know next week we can get a huge ass adjustment like the ones for GTA V and suddenly GT6 has 200k preorders for all I know and what it's worth. Plus US market is a small factor in GT sales overall. The game has still 3 months to release, a bit of marketing for people to know it's coming out and I think it will be ok.
Gran Turismo is synonymous with racing simulator and will sell very good, just probably not as good as GT5, it's legs won't be as good due to the next gen consoles. I still stand by my stance when it was revealed as a PS3 game that it is a bad idea, and as a PS4 launch exclusive instead of DriveClub would be a killer system seller, sell probably as good or better than the PS3 version lifetime due to typical legs, maybe just not give as good profit cause less copies would have been sold for full price, but overall a way better business decision.

Of course it will. It's a terrible business decision to release GT6 on the PS3. It should have been Prologue and then GT6 on the PS4 in a couple of years.

Sony did a huge mistake releasing gt6 a huge game for them on the ps3 after the ps4 comes out. It gives a huge incentive to people to not yet buy a ps4.

I'm still adamant that they should have dumped Drive Club and put this as a launch title. Knowing PD though they wouldn't have had it ready until 2015 anyway.

To the people saying it was a mistake to put on Ps4: well, it's a bit more complicated than that. There were two options for PD: GT6 on Ps3 or Ps4. Pros and Cons to each side.

On Ps3 you get a huge install base of 80+ million as well as familar hardware to max out to your ability (already have experience on Ps3 with GT5). A negative to that is when GT6 comes out on Ps3 it'll be on last gen hardware, possibly cutting off the legs. 

On Ps4 you get to support a brand new next gen system with a great launch window title. However the install base will no doubt be much less therefore limiting the sales. Plus there are already a ton of games, both 1st and third party, coming to Ps4. In my opinion, it'd be crowded.

The decision was made by PD for PD. In the end it benefits PD the most, being as the large install base increases the sales the most. Also it's easier most likely to develop on something you already made games for. I'd prefer it to be on Ps4 however. My selfish Sony fanboyism inside me wants the new console to distance itself from XOne.

Only time will tell if it is the right decision :)

It will sell on the multi-million numbers. Dont be naive to the point of thinking that the PS3 is over once the PS4 is out. The PS3 will lead the market for at least another year.
