Gran Turismo 5's USA pre-order numbers were in excess of 300k and had an opening of 500k in the USA with almost 2.3 mil worldwide. Gran Turismo 6 is not currently charting in the pre-orders and releases this year worldwide.

well as the 2nd game on the console iirc it normally sells worse.
but yes GT6 will most likely under preform... which means it will sell a ridiculous amount of units

to be serious now, gt is still 3 months away and even if it has maybe less pre-orders as gt5 had 3 months before release i think it is only because "hardcore" gamers who pre-order so early care less about it as they did with gt5 because they already pre-ordered a ps4. but the mass market will still buy gt6 as much as gt5.

it is the same with all the other sequels isn't it? cod, bf and so on, don't they all have less pre-orders on ps and 360 as their successors had? but i don't think that this will mean much for the sales to people who always buy the games without pre-ordering them. especially for the sales the weeks and months after release.

Is it 1 week until GT6 launch already? No? Maybe wait until 1 week before GT6 is released before making this comparison.

GT5 preorders had been accumulating for, like, 20 years between the release of Prologue and the actual game.

releasing GT6 for ps3 may not have been the best move, but speaking of a ps4 version this early doesn't increase its sales on ps3, that's for sure.

Totally normal. Now that we've seen next-gen graphics, GT6 graphics look old and outdated. I think people are more excited about next-gen than a current gen racing game. GT6 comes much too late (or much to early, maybe they should have waited and developed it for PS4).
