why do you guys even care how much a game sells.. just buy it if you want and stop judging a game´s success depending on its sales.

You do realise what website you joined don't you? Here it is vastly more important to find out how much a game sells and watch it's weekly figures than to even buy the game. Welcome by the way.

And I'll name them. At least 10 of them should be pointing out the obvious.

People are exaggerating how big Brawl is going to be. Sales estimates well above 15 million, talk of how its "Nintendo's biggest franchise" or will be the "defining game on Wii." Biggest case in point: on theSimExchange, Brawl is valued above 17M in sales. At its highest, it topped 20M.

...

I actually agree with you completely.

It should hit 10m - but I very much doubt it will get far past that. Its just not the  "core demographic" title for the Wii.

Mario Kart on the other hand... (esp. with a steering wheel & budget release...).

Gesta Non Verba

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Game Assessment website

Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099

I dont think all of those will outsell it ... probably the first 3 or 4 , but thats it IMO ...

I'm telling you naysayers, Brawl Worldwide will be the best selling non handheld game this generation. Wii Sports as a pack in shouldn't count. GTAIV will be two versions and you shouldn't combine them and call them one game. Brawl has all things going for it. It has Sonic, Snake, Wario and Pokemon Trainer. It's Nintendo's first major effort going online with a console. It will appeal huge to casuals and the hardcore. Four different control methods; easy to pick up hard to master. Now maybe it's just my personal hype talking, but I feel the Brawl phenomenon coming.

Brawl isn't all that i'm guessing it sells 5-7 mil this gen , It's a good game and it did influence Wii Console sales but then any major game would and no one I know is buying a Wii soley for the purpose of playing this game.

As I said before: Mario 64 won in N64, Mario Kart won in Gamecube, Smash Bros will win in Wii. That's the way Nintendo is doing it.

And Mario Kart: Double Dash only won Smash Bros Melee in Gamecube by a small amount even though part of its life it was a pack in.

No 360 nor PS3 games will beat SSBB this gen.

So, if we discount all the Wii... games, SSBB will be the highest selling game in this gen. My guess is at 20millions.

WW Market share prediction on 31st March 08 (I make this prediction on 13 Dec 07):

Wii - 50%

X360 - 30%

PS3 - 20%

Halo 3 and Gran Turismo 5 have no chance of selling more units than Brawl.  GTA4 might, if you combine 360 and PS3 sales, but that's still very doubtful.

Estimating Brawl's total sales is very difficult because Melee was so successful on the gamecube, which had approximately the same installed base lifetime as the Wii will have 16 months into its life.  Brawl will very unlikely see a similar attach rate that Melee saw, but it will definitely eclipse it in sales.  Drastically.

Nintendo realizes that if they want to sell the Wii as quickly as they need to increase production beyond 1.8 million units per month -- at that rate, they'd only manufacture 130 million units in 6 years.

what do u mean by "budget release"? Anyways, SSBB will def. sell more than 10 million. What if the Wii gets an install base of over 100 million! You think the attach ratio will only be 1 in 10??? Last time, it was over 1 in 6 with melee. This time, BRAWL is a sig. improvement and has much more hype.
