It's still a Vita, a very different Vita but a Vita nonetheless. You wouldn't track the 2DS differently from the other 3DS models.

The obvious difference is 2DS and 3DS are both handhelds. While PSV is a handheld as well PSV TV is actually a console. To make a comparison an example the MegaDrive/Genesis had some kind of a spinoff (handheld) with Nomad that basically was a portable MegaDrive/Genesis. Back then sales weren´t added up to MegaDrives userbase for obvious reasons.

Whether it's a console or a handheld, it's still a Vita. Besides, it might make Vita sales actually look good.

This is basically the only reason they would combine the sales - to inflate the numbers. Basically to make them look better than they actually are, the same thing they have been doing in their financial reports in which PSP and PSV sales are combined just to hide the real performance of the systems. Since one is aiming the handheld audience and the other (PSTV) is aiming the console audience it would make sense to list them seperately. This would guarantee a more concrete picture for us interested in sales data and the development of the market,.

It's a very different console but at the end of the day, it's still a Vita and should be tracked with the other models.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If it makes some people feel better they still can just add the PSVTV sales to the PSV sales. On the other hand you couldn´t take a more detailed look into the market if both would be tracked combined. To be honest it´s really surprising that some people would rather have less information, especially considering this is a site about sales information/discussion.

It's not a handheld, so I wouldn't track it with handhelds. It's nothing like the 2DS... the 2DS is just a cheap version of the 3DS. 2DS is more like the Vita Slim than Vita.TV. A hardware revision to cut costs and attract new buyers. Vita.tv is a home console.

PSVita.TV is relevant to Vita sales, however, since it can play Vita cartridges, and is relevant to looking at software sales, attach rates, etc., and since we come to this site to look at sales data, we should be able to see this.

I think the ideal solution would be tracking of the platforms broken down by model. A stacked bar graph which shows 2DS+3DS+3DSXL and any other models that may come, and another showing the Vita platform Vita+VitaSlim+Vita.TV. If this is possible it would be great. Otherwise I would probably track Vita.TV separately, as a home console. More questions like this may come up in the future, as I can see Nintendo doing wonky things with its next line of hardware, or further blurring of the PS4/Vita platforms.
