What do we know about this model?

1) Same price as current Vita.
2) LCD screen instead of OLED.
3) Built-in memory, not sure what size.
4) Available in a few new colors.

What else? Based on the above it's not really an upgrade or more attractive than the current Vita. Without knowing what games will release in the same week, I go with 30k.

Its 20% smaller and 20% lighter, has a longer battery life and its 1k yen cheaper than the current model

Being smaller makes a difference, so I increase my prediction to 45k, because it should go beyond a mere new colors boost. As for the price, I've seen someone in another thread pointing out that people were comparing a no-tax price to the tax-included price of the current Vita. Both models cost virtually the same.

What's your prediction?

Well the combination of people trying to get their hands on the OLED model before it is discontinued the new LED one I can see 55-60k for that week, even with no new software.

Around the Network

70k

34

With the Bundles getting half of the Pre-orders chart at Amazon, my hopes are really high.. 100k could be possible if GE2 was released at that day, but well 75k is safe I guess.

Not sure but like I've said before it depends on how well Sony advertises this. I'll say 20-30k if unadvertised and 40-70k if advertised.

Around the Network

will be between 25-150k

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Wat do you think it'll be?

53k. Does anyone know if it still has 3g? Or 4g? Are they dropping it?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

The new models, even Vita TV, aren't going to sell amazing without the games to push the hardware. The dreamcast was practically given away, but lack of games that could sell the system still made it sell like crap. Likewise, Nintendo's $80 price cut wasn't extremely impactful on 3DS sales by itself. It needed MK7 and SM3DL alongside it, and with bundles (even an OoT 3D limited edition bundle). If Vita doesn't get great games, then it won't get great sales.

I predict 50k first week.

Hmmmmmm... The price drop is pretty inconsequential. It's basically a 10%ish drop. Basically like a Vita without paying taxes. Colors are a nice touch, and I like the idea of a smaller Vita, but without some really big software I don't see a major difference. With the US price cut, I didn't go as low as I really thought because I thought I was subconsciously biased and ended up overshooting it. So, this time I'll go with my gut and say 22K.
