Forums - Sony Discussion - PS Vita TV is just excellent

Its about on par with Ouya which also plays PS1 and PSP games and many other emulators, streams music and video but has access to android games and apps.

PS4 streaming is the only differentiator I see which is neat but can be easily accomplished with an Miracast/WiDi adapter. But for someone that lives and wants to keep everything in a Sony world, this is a neat device.

lol have fun with that. Watching Netflix on a decent tablet or even a smartphone with bigger screen beats Vita anytime imo.

You dont know what a Vita TV does do you....just assumed it has to do something with watching Netflix, dat reading only title xD.

Hey! I assumed, too!! How about a little recognition for MY ignorance!?

the f do I know it's not the actual vita he's referring to until you sony dickheads replied to me.. I have to google it and see the actual thing. (I must say I like  it)

Uh huh.

So Ouya has Vita games now? And play can PSP/PS1 games legitimately, without having to resort to downloading illegal bios's and ROM dumps.

interesting. i'm not sold right now but the ps4 streaming is quite intersting. i was thinking of moving my ps3 to my other TV when i get a ps4 for netflix (replacing the wii) and whatnot but if this can do netflix and stream ps4 and stream vita and do gaikai seems quite worth the $100.

i'll keep an eye on this.

Right PS Vita games...forgot about those.

And no Roms or bioses need to be downloaded. Android has an app that will generate any bios for any console and you can make your own ISO's for games if you own or know someone that has an extensive collection of classic games.  Or you could download them "illegally" yes...

It's a cool idea. Being able to play Vita games on a big screen is cool, although I wonder what happens with touch controlled games. The streaming features are similar enough to Apple TV and stuff like that. It's kind of a niche product that will be limited to big PS fans, but it's a cool niche product.

Which about 99% of users using those apps probably do..

Why'd you quote ME?  I'm not a sony dickhead! I'm a Nintendo dickhead!!

It's pretty cool because now I don't have to buy a Vita. I can just buy this since Vita 2000 doesn't have a HDMI out port and it's more of a downgrade compared to the original.

Gaming wise I really don´t see any reason. Why buy a PSV that isn´t portable? Wasn´t the purpose of the PSV to play console like games on the go?  And recently to use it as an offscreen accessory for PS4? Since most are multiplats that are also available on PS3 why would anyone buy an inferior version instead? Also PS1 games are also available on PS3s PSN and PS3 has the far more PS2 HD collections.

The biggest problem to me is that it basically just is a handheld mutated to a console that still has the huge problem of overpriced memcards if you take them into account you could just buy a PS3 with a decent harddrive instead.
