This thread is a prime example of Sony fans dominating the internet.

...

Or maybe people actually like the device...
I'm getting one and I already own a Vita. I've been wanting to buy an Apple TV/Roku for a while and this seems like a much smarter buy.

Interesting that the people who like it have Sony sigs or avatars. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

From your signature I've figured out you're a Nintendo fanboy. No wonder you're so opposed to this device and the scattered love it's receiving.

LOL. See how that train of thought is beyond stupid?

For $100 it's an amazing concept. Play any backwards compatible Vita content as well as certain Vita games on TV.

I agree with the Ouya killer comment. Vita might not get much support but it's being supported more than the Ouya, with big budget titles on it, and it still has Netlix and Hulu.  I might buy one for my living room.

I'm not a fanboy, I like Nintendo, that's pretty much it.

But tell me, why would Sony fans like this new device when they apparently can't play half of the Vita's library? No matter how much of a fan you are, there's no reason to buy one if you can't play those games. Also, most people complaints (including Sony fans) were the memory cards and those are still present. Why are they still happy about it now?

I guess most people who said they liked it and only watched the video and didn't see the other news about it.

Seems like good price point wise, but the fragmentation seems a little risky.

Because we aren't buying it just to play Vita games... Heck the feature that most people seem to care about is remote play.

As far as memory cards go, it has 1GB of internal memory meaning you only need to buy a memory card if you want digital games, unlike the current Vita.

Also,

PS Vita TV will also support “nasne™,” a networked recorder and media storage device . Users will not only be able to enjoy content stored within the device but also back up their game data as well as save data on “nasne™” via the network.

I guess most people who said they didn't like it only watched the video and didn't see the other news about it.

Also my fanboy comment went over your head. You're judging people in this thread with Sony signatures as liking it for fanboy reasons, so I applied the same logic to you.

Sucks that it only uses hdmi.

But it's a vita! Gaikai of course will have a paywall but ps1, psp, psv, all media, and ps4 remote play all don't need plus on vita. Sony can't just put that behind plus without looking stupid.

gaikai IS how it will get all the ps games including vita. Notice it has no game ports...

As others just said... its a appleTV/GoogleTV type of device but centered around Sony's digital store front. I frankly think it would be better as a GoogleTV device with a unique PS/Gaikai app that of course requires PS+.

not sure that is true.  last i heard sony said something like they weren't sure if it would be A) free, B) in ps+ or C) require a seperate subscription.  granted that was a long time ago and sony internally probably knows what's up but nothing has been made public.

PS: looks like we can press L3 and R3 to bring two different pointers, to emulate front and back touchpads. I would be EASY to implement and will work with MOST games.

Where did you see this?

FACTS: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2013/09/09/you-can-activate-touch-controls-on-ps-vita-tv-by-using-the-sticks/

(sony said touchcreen/pad emulated with sticks)

SUPPOSITIONS: R2 brings out pointer A (red), move it with RIGHT stick, press R3 to "touch", L2 brings out pinter B (blue), move it with LEFT stick, press L3 to "touch"

It would work well form MOST games and of course more "difficult" games can be patched ad hoc one by one.

That compatibility list WILL BECOME BIGGER for launch in the west!

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!

What's the point then? Why even call it a Vita if you aren't going to buy it for the games? Again, further proof that Sony doesn't know what to do with the thing other than making it a PS4 accessory, which imo, won't save the device.

As for the memory, then my apologies, didn't saw that bit of news.
