When I originally heard Telltale Games was making a Walking Dead game, I was a little frustrated at the news. Not because I didn't think it would make a good game, but because I didn't think Telltale could do the series justice. See I'm a huge fan of Jurassic Park, and when Telltale made a game based off that series a couple years ago, I felt as though they prevented from establishing itself in gaming again by making a low budget cash-in, that just didn't capture what made that movie so great. Granted, it was the only game by Telltale I had ever played, but it still left a bad enough taste in my mouth to not look foward to their future projects. I enjoy The Walking Dead TV series, and didn't want that to be made by poorly done game, so I pretty much decided to never give this one a chance.

Down the road, I came to find that the game has a 92 score on Metacritic and had actually won the Spike VGA's GOTY award. Two things I had not expected, but I still didn't purchase it because I felt like I still wouldn't enjoy the game.

However, I went against this judgment and bought recent PS Vita bundle that included a copy of the game. I just finished playing through it, and... I'm speechless. The game is a masterpiece. Sure, it may not be the prettiest game out there, nor feature some super revolutionary gameplay, but the story, the characters, the voice acting, and (most importantly) Clementine,  just made the game100% worth it. It fits so well into the overall universe, and Telltale did a great job starting off the story of a very young girl in such a world. Honestly, I can't wait for Season 2, and I might even play through it on the PS3 to take a different route in the story, and earn another platinum trophy on the side. ;)

I know this game has been out for a while now, but I'm curious as to what anyone else who has played this game thinks.

Isn't it a graphic adventure game? There is not much gameplay that could be had ina graphic adventure game...

Overall, I would say TLoU is the better game for the simple fact that it has much better character development, and I just prefer the 3rd person survival horror gameplay, plus the MP adds a lot more replay value. This game is still fantastic though, and is definitely worth a playthrough if you enjoy the show and want to experience it from a different angle with different characters etc. In other words, both are fantastic.

I just noticed that, and the first is posted in the wrong topic section. I have no idea how to fix it though.

I like it overall but from all the hype and praise I was expecting a bit more. The story and relationship between the characters were great but the gameplay aspect just felt bland. I found Episode 2 to be the best, what about you?

I guess I just came into it with such low expectations that what I got wowed me. You just can't help but care about that little girl. I agree the gameplay wasn't phenomenal (and pointed that out), but Telltale isn't really known for that. They're known for characters and story driven experiences, and I think they nailed it here. I would say Episode 2 was the best as well. It caught me completely off guard.

P.S. Can someone help me fix this double post and topic section problem. I'm still new to this.
