Forums - Sony Discussion - How Is Vita Doing Now? (KillZone Has Yet To Be Released)

How Are These Vita Sales After A Price Drop With No New Software Doing?

Sales Are Good,But Should Be Higher 22 14.86%

They Are Where I Expect Them 6 4.05%

Need To Improve Alot More 52 35.14%

Way Off Of What It Needs To Be 39 26.35%

Much Better Than I Expected 5 3.38%

Too Early To Say As Of Now 24 16.22%

Total:148

Vita is doomed, not even a price cut will save it. I bet if that thing was dropped down to 150 sales would barely pick up.

Japan numbers are horrible, EU and NA getting boost thanks to price drop.

Killzone is getting vastly better reviews than the flop CoD.

Also God Eater 2 preorders are looking goo.

So thats something to look forward to.

japan increased from 6k to 60k after price cut (2 new games as well). US jumped from 5k-6k then up to 10k, with killzone i see it doing 20k

Uh the PSP still outsold
Looks like the price cut hasn't done much. Needs more games.

It's just that simple.

Give us the software and people will buy it, but since Sony is turning the Vita into a Indie handheld I don't see much hope for the Vita. They need something big like GTA or Gran Turismo to help boost sales in North America and Europe.

US+Europe should rise for awhile, japan is where vita going to be crazy. its @ 8k with software while 3ds boostto 61k off of hype alone. When MH4 then pokemon xy come out vita will be under 10k every week intill GE2 then should boost by a great margin (70k-90k) that week. US will increase to around 20k with killzone me thinks

Lack of post tells me its not doing good õ.ó

I look forward to your "How is the Wii U Doing" threads.

stop hating , we all kno WiiU is Dead , Just Wait intill MH4+Pokemon XY comes, WiiU+Vita gonna bomb every week lmao. PS: Nobody made the thread yet so i made it, wats the problem? People always do these, i just ask a question. You didn't answer it, Whyyyyyyyyyy?

The price cut's results were a bit anticlimatic, especially when looking back at the 3DS price cut. I don't think Killzone will be the savior some people are hoping for either. Killzone isn't that big a series, and it doesn't seem to be a system seller. Looking back into the series history, Killzone 2 did boost sales for the PS3 by a fair amount, but its boost mostly wore off in a few weeks, even with the release of Resident Evil 5 inflating numbers. Killzone 3 also boosted sales, but not by as much, and once again the effect soon wore off.

Furthermore, I'm not sure if people are going to be big advocates of the game and spread the word of mouth. Reviews for Mercenary are actually slightly worse than those of 2006's Liberation for the PSP (which, incidentally, did not break a million).

Not all is lost for the Vita. God Eater 2 will help in Japan and Tearaway will help elsewhere. Killzone, however, is just a step in the right direction, not the remedy for the Vita's ills.

Love and tolerate.
