PSN has everything to do with Xbox Live, its just free (still is for the most part). PSN+ was not comparable in any way until Games for Gold. The founding structure was payment for a steady stream of games on a weekly to monthly basis.

You don't think the "+" has anything to do with the fat stacks of cash MS has been pulling in from XBL and Sony wanting a piece of that sweet pie? The free games are just a way to ease the pain for everyone that is constantly whining about having to pay for things that for some reason they think should be free.

LOL...Xbox Live Gold robs the average gamer who doesn't want online multiplayer from enjoying the free nature of online. The cannot access their non-Xbox Live related subscriptions nor anything. Even though Sony upgraded multiplayer to PSN Plus, PSN by itself is essentially the majority of Xbox Live Gold with Silver combined. You also need to differentiate free games from F2P. Without PSN+ the Games for Gold system would not exist.

Whether or not XBL can be considered "robbing" people is irrelevant. MS found a way to make hundreds of millions of dollars off of something that Sony was losing money on, and Sony realized just how dumb they were being by allowing it to continue. Sony can thank MS for showing them how to make money instead of losing it hand over fist.

If Sony followed Microsoft's lead they would force consumers to pay for the lionshare of PSN and technically PSN+ would not exist.

This thread should be locked. It's just ridiculous.

I do find it ironic that a banned user can do some much damage.  Just saying.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

I honestly don't know what you're talking about. You leave me clueless. You're the only one who's mixing Xbox Live Silver and Gold as to explain your argument, which they're not, and so we sum it up like this: Silver is the free service, Gold is the paid service. PSN is the free service, PSN+ is the paid service.

Silver don't allow you to play online. PSN does.

But in Ps4's case, it doesn't, either. You have to resort to the paid service to play online. As you say, no one is forcing you into being PSN+, but you don't play online. Is that simple.

No. You see...Sony hasn't forced yet people to pay for the lionshare of the online experience, therefore I am not embellishing a thing.

:/

No, they just cornered off the sector of the online that might demand payment. Really and truly, its only the multiplayer and gaming rentals and deep discounts that should be premium. As for cross chat and everything else can be used off of PSN+. :)

And? Your point is? Multiplayer if any is the only area on console gaming that would call for paid online if there was to be a premium policy for servers and things. Theres a lot of people who game who dont play sports titles or online shooters. F2P should be free on both Xbox Live Silver and PSN. Besides that PSN is still free and Silver is extremely limited, which is why technically it should be phased out. It's not even a tease.

No one is forcing you to become Gold, either. I am not getting your point.

Great, you changed the topic. You went to whatever you were saying to PSN > Silver. Good job.

Enjoy paying to play Killzone on Ps4.
