PSN+ has nothing to do with Xbox Live. Xbox gamers can thank Sony for inspiring Microsoft to give back with Games with Gold.

Sure

PSN will always be free and if they dont want to pay for multiplayer or extra games they dont have to. Just remember that. :)

PSN doesn't have anything to do with Xbox Live. It was PSN+ I was talking about.

If renting games is your thing...

PSN has everything to do with Xbox Live, its just free (still is for the most part). PSN+ was not comparable in any way until Games for Gold. The founding structure was payment for a steady stream of games on a weekly to monthly basis.

You don't think the "+" has anything to do with the fat stacks of cash MS has been pulling in from XBL and Sony wanting a piece of that sweet pie? The free games are just a way to ease the pain for everyone that is constantly whining about having to pay for things that for some reason they think should be free.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but if you don't know that PSN is essentially the same thing as Xbox Live, you're very, very wrong. Sad to say, really. PSN+ was Sonys answer to profiting off of online gaming without taking away the complete online experience. PSN+ was created to create a premium alternative by essentially renting out games, discounts and free themes and other things, which MS still doesn't do. Microsoft never did a thing like that until they were inspired by the profitability of PSN+ to create Games for Gold. Its a great way to give back to games (which MS has such a hard time doing themselves).

LOL...Xbox Live Gold robs the average gamer who doesn't want online multiplayer from enjoying the free nature of online. The cannot access their non-Xbox Live related subscriptions nor anything. Even though Sony upgraded multiplayer to PSN Plus, PSN by itself is essentially the majority of Xbox Live Gold with Silver combined. You also need to differentiate free games from F2P. Without PSN+ the Games for Gold system would not exist.

PSN+ was Sonys answer to profiting off of online gaming without taking away the complete online experience. Microsoft cashing on online and getting away with it. They added value to their already established online system to lure people into investing in it. Then they made it mandatory for online play in PS4.

No matter how you want to embellish it, that's it.

No. You see...Sony hasn't forced people to pay for the lionshare of the online experience, therefore I am not embellishing a thing.
