Not that i want one, but would be usefull for the people that make the anime to make pikachu more powerfull but keeping it as a pikachu.

I doubt it, first it would'nt make sense that pikachu could mega evolve and not Raichu. So far only final evolutions have mega evos.

Also as for the anime, I also thought of that, but I think it would break the status quo too much.

I think it has something to do with that Gotta Catch 'em All website that they teased in a video they accidentally uploaded instead of the Genesect movie trailer
