With that news, now some people will either wait for a price cut or buy the PS4...

Why would they wait with that news? MS are not overcharing for what they sell apparently.

It's not common sense to make assumptions without context.  If there is context the writer has knowledge of that's not included in the article, that's one thing, but as it stands, "from launch" is a complete assumption relative to the supplied information.  That is a fact.

I'm sorry, but "looking to be" is open-ended.

I doubt he felt the need to point it out, not everything needs to be when yes, it's common sense.

Uh huh.  If that's the case, then it's poor writing.  You don't reach a conclusion that's not supported in the body of your article.  I'm not simply going to take his word for it.  It might be true, I have no idea, but that isn't what he's quoted as saying.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a price cut guys. Have you forgotten the $ in M$? How bout the 360? People have been claiming that for how long now?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

MS were pretty good at the start of this lifecycle cutting price, as soon as they get a wiff of success they don't do a damn thing!

But evidently they're not going to be running away with the win, so I expect them to be aggressive with pricing.

i dont think that some get it, currently for each xbox one sold they make ZERO dollars/euros or pounds

that means a pricecut is not coming soon
but the interesting fact is that they can reduce the price of both the kinect unit and the console itself independantly

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Both Sony and Microsoft choose to go with cheaper hardware (AMD APUs) this generation... they won't take looses on hardware like Xbox 360 or PS3.

That's the main reason for these consoles didn't have a Core i5 and 3-4TFLOPS GPU.

Whoa, hold on. The title of the article is not what he is quoted as saying in the article, not unless there is more to the interview than is included here.

The second paragraph 0_o

I don't see "from launch" anywhere.  I see "we're looking to be break even or low margin".  "Looking to be" could easily be interpreted as a goal with no context about it being long term or short term.  I don't understand where the assumption "from launch" is coming from.

You're not serious? Common sense is where it's coming from. They're not talking about down the road.

Lol dude this is basically PR talk. They don't use "common sense". They manipulate their words and then people misinterpret them.

i didnt see anything about the xbl gold profits. they are making money, cant do shit without gold. its an atm machine you buy and put in your house that goes right to M$. which is fine, but alot more behind a paywall than its worth,

Im still getting one later on, its just one of the flaws i see for my own interests. i will eventually have to decide if xbg is worth more than ps+. that is debatable. we will see what happens between now and then.

Genius.

Glad to see they abandoned the loss-leading strategy. Plus keeping the still profitable 360 going (unlike the original XB which they ditched like a dirty whore). This model is much more substanible, which in the end is good for everyone.
