X360 and PS3? I thought this game was being released only in next gen platforms.

Yes that was actually more surprising to me to read. I never thought it would come to the resent consoles also. I guess this will be the case for a while huh!

yeah, i think even some games releasing holiday 2015 could be still also release for current gen. with more scalable engines it isn't that hard. games like need for speed, fifa, cod, asscreed and so on...well, fifa does still release for ps2 but i mean the full new version and not what the ps2 version is for years now.

Releasing on PS3 and 360 is a mistake, wastes time, money and resources to make the game excellent instead of just good. I'll buy a next gen console for this game (as long as it's more like DAO than 2, bloody dialog wheel better be gone, I don't want to know my choices).

Mistake? 150 million users... they want that money for sure.

If that was the thinking then Gran Turismo 6 would... er, Titanfall would be... er... Final Fantasy XIV...... whatever.

I bet they add a pointless online too, costing more money and resources.

Hmm, pie.

I don't get what you mean... GT6, Titanfall, FFXIV are in curent consoles too for the same reason: userbase ($$$).

Proving your point, although all those games are out soon, compared to DA3. I just like the idea of developers not wasting resources/time, streamlining development, things like that to be cost effective. I feel those who do have Xbone and PS4 will get versions with bugs and mistakes because the game was made for 5 platforms, not 3.

I know userbase = moolah, but if that were the real mentality, then we'd all still be playing PS2 games.

Hmm, pie.

This is a funny dilemma for game developers. They want to make everyone happy. This is really funny for cross gen games.

Developers have three scenarios.

1. Next gen console version will look on par with the PC version.
2. PC version will be the best with high res textures and lots of other effects.
3. We are pushing current gen versions to the limits.

Its not easy to keep everyone happy. But its funny to see them making statements that "slightly" contradict their past comments.

ps3 versions of dragon age always better than xbox 360 ones.

btw this game looks amazing , dem graphics !!! one thing that bother me is camera when fighting in inquisition.

and no hype in vgchartz ? damn

Yeah, no threads about the gameplay videos or anything.

It's my 2nd most anticipated game right after Dark Souls 2.

Inquisition will be fantastic.

So far all the news that I've heard from Dragon Age: Inquisition has been great. Racial choice for the protagonist is back (you can even play as a Qunari), along with the tactical overhead camera angle, and armor customization for companions, it looks like they've brought back some of the most requested features from Dragon Age: Origins, while adding new features like a more open-world (relative to previous games) and Dragon Age Keep (the application that will handle importing decisions, regardless of platform).

As for it being on the 360 and PS3, many people on Bioware's forums have been asking for the game to be a cross-generational title (not everyone is eager to upgrade), so I think that it is good that Bioware isn't leaving those behind. I doubt there is going to be much of a difference between the 360 and PS3 versions, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he meant to say that the 360 and PS3 would not look as good, and simply forgot to say PS3 at first, especially when you consider that the previous console versions of the franchise have had a lot of parity. Nonetheless, I'll be getting this game on PC.

I am curious about PC version as how I play this series.

Likely be waiting a year or so after release before can afford to upgrade to play it. Hope it turns out well like Origins.

I was under the impression that the tactical camera would return for all versions, here are some gameplay videos (fast forward to around 4:25 in Part 3 to see the tactical camera demonstration, where the speakers says it's back for every platform):
