Right now the gap stands at about 1.8m

PS3 has outsold Wii by 40,000 there on a weekly basis over this Summer.  With the jump in Holiday sales and of course PS3 getting some major software this Fall how long till this gap is closed?

Gen#7 is already finished and Wii is the best selling console.

Let us just look forward to the Gen#8 and enjoy it.

Cant wait for this and the 360>Wii in NA to happen
Then the best selling console of the gen will have only won in 1 territory, JAPAN.

Who will be buying PS3s after the release of the PS4?
I would expect sales will slow dramatically.
