The online on Nintendo is just as good as the others. The onlie persistant worlds they are trying to do on ps4/x1 will flop hard. There arent enough players to populate all those games.

Nem, you have multiple consoles, how can you believe this? Online is the biggest separator from Nintendo and Sony/MS (and I kinda struggle to put Sony at the same level of MS).

I fail to see anything special that Microsoft or Sony has for online (especially considering you have to pay for it, PSN+ free games is about the only special thing that I see of any value).  You could once make the case against Nintendo when they had FC for every single game (DS/Wii).  That was the main complaint against their online.  What the fuck do you have to complain against it now?

There are dozens of things to complain, but the biggest offender is the lack of centralized Nintendo online system and identity. Everything should be tied together (Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and DS), but it somehow isn't. Once that is in place, then you can worry about more minor things like that awful shop setups and lack of content overall (day one digital for all games would be a nice start).

anyone who would say this cant be serious. Ninty just released Wii U less than a year ago. they just NOW caught up to XBL and PSN, nothing to be proud of being on par 5 years later is pathetic, and PS4 and xbone are right around the corner and theyll leave them behind again

That is a valid complaint.  I've always raised the issue in the polls for Club Nintendo.  I don't believe you should have to pay twice for the same VC game to play on home and hand held consoles.

Yeah, you see the standard ad hominem attacks pile up pretty fast.  It's a LOT easier to say "Gearbox sucks" or "Bethesda sucks" than it is to speak to their argument.  We've seen the same thing recently with small developers who spoke up about Microsoft's indie policies, and before that with anyone who said the Cell processor was hard to work with.  Responses like that are usually meaningless and worthless.

Very good Bonus Round, I thought.  The DLC portion was also interesting.

-Nintendo made their box without really consulting 3rd parties, whereas Sony and MS have done so from a very early point of the PS4/One development.

This point is bs because why would Nintendo give a shit what Gearbox or Bethesda think about their system specs if they barely or never supported their systems in the past.

-Nintendo's online is subpar when next gen seems to be focusing more and more on the co-op/competitive experience.

This point is bs because Wii U and 3DS online is just as good as competition.  I'm lacking cross game chat on Wii U?  Oh my fucking god, Wii U online sucks...

-Wii U not in parity with the PS4/One. Requires additional resources because of architecture and the need to cut stuff out of a game to fit the Wii U hardware.

-Audience is different from what Bathesda/Gearbox makes, which makes them reluctant to spend additional resources.

These are the two main points that aren't bs.  This is pretty much all that needed to be said.  I have no fucking clue why they try to take a jab at online infrastructure.

And I don't have a fucking clue why you responded to my post with your internet rage when I said nothing about the fucking online infrastructure.

As far as Nintendo not giving a shit about Bethesda or Gearbox, that's cool, as long as you understand that Bethesda and Gearbox aren't required to give a shit about a console maker who ignores them.  Neither one of them have to bother with the other, there is absolutely nothing that requires it.  However, some Nintendo fans are constantly "blaming" third party developers and publishers.  If Nintendo doesn't care enough to develop a relationship with third-parties then those fans need to accept it and move on.

While this is inconvenient it's only a possible detriment to those who would otherwise  make purchases on the eShop choose not to.  It also has no effect on the quality of online play.  However rumor is that they are working on rectifying this issue, likely along with the addition where you can purchase games for your Wii U and 3DS from a PC or cell phone, so hopefully that will be fixed soon.

What is the point of this comment?  Given the state of online gaming provided by the Wii there has been massive growth with the Wii U.  Additionally, the state of the Xbox 360's and the PS3's interface are not the same as they were at launch, or as they were 5 years ago.  They've both gone through SEVERAL updates.  As far as I can recall the PS Store for the PS3 has gone through an entire redesign within the last year or two and the Xbox 360's primary interface has gone through multiple updates with major changes happening at least twice if not three or more times.  So the argument that these systems are so much older as they came out so long ago is irrelvant.  They're not the same systems they were back then as far as software and firmware are concerned.

Sorry if my post seemed to be rage directed at you; it was supposed to directed towards this topic that has been beaten to death in the past few months.  One must accept it and have another platform if they want to play all the 3rd party games.  I've used the Nintendo and PC combo since the late 90s and it has served me with all I've ever needed.  I'm just tired of hearing about western third party companies telling us why they don't want to work with Nintendo.

While it is disappointing to know that Bethesda doesn't have any current plans for the Wii U, I'm at least glad we got a more concrete answer this time around. I imagine the Wii U owners that do enjoy Bethesda games already utilize another platform to play their titles so it ultimately isn't that huge of a deal (Bethesda games are best on PC, where players have access to mods), but I hope in the future Nintendo can establish a better relationship with western third-party developers.

Only Western? they aren't getting any love from Capcom, Konami, and many other Japanese devs either.

Capcom is giving them MH4 though which the Vita so desperately needed.

The Wii U not getting Super Street Fight 4 does not equal Nintendo getting no love from Capcom.  The PS4 and Xbox One are not getting it either.  The 3DS is getting Monster Hunter 4 and Super Smash Bros. is going to have Megaman in it, a major IP of Capcom.  They got the Street Fighter 2 trilogy on the Wii U VC within the last month.  They're not getting abandoned by Capcom.  I'm not sure about Konami, but they're getting support from Atlus, working on the crossover FE x SMT and they're obviously on good terms with Sega and Platinum.

It's unfortunate they're not getting serious support from SquareEnix though, would love to get Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV on the Wii U, Deus Ex: HR - DC, just doesn't cut it, especially have lost exclusivity.

No problem.  That's cool, just a misunderstanding.

I get what you're saying but remember, it was a Nintendo fan who asked the question.  They could have dodged it like the guys in suits, though I much prefer honest answers.
