Forums - Sony Discussion - Ready at Dawn Emulating Lenses for The Order: 1886 on PS4

I have nothing against the order, I always trust Sony's first party. I was disappointed sony is making yet another shooter. Sony seems to be way shooter happy. IS Sony allergic to RPG's? Major hole in their library. Too many shooters.

Supposedly it's actually more of an action/adventure game that just happens to have guns.

I have a really good feeling about this game. Don't ask me why I have this feeling but I have enough confidence in The Order that I already preordered it. Pretty sad I know. Preordering a game before any game play has been shown.

These days it's pretty pointless to preorder software period (hardly ever a shortage on a game from a known studio), but I respect your desire to support the developer and possibly get a few bonuses.

I kind of like the look of it.  PS4 should have a pretty solid library 1 year in (end of 2014).

I usually preorder from Amazon if I'm really anticipating a game because I have prime so it guarantees same day delivery and they normally have some bonus thing that I'll either keep or sell on Ebay.  Like I sold the LoU artbook and GoW Ascension statue for $40 each on ebay so the Collector's Editions only ended up costing $40 and I got those sweet steel cases and season passes.  GTA5 I got the CE preordered so I get same day delivery.  I ordered Beyond from Gamestop because they had an actual GAMEPLAY bonus of 30 minutes which is usually the only incentive that will make me switch from one retailer to the other.  If it's plastic crap I don't care which is why I got the GTA edition with just the bonus codes and steel case that's only $20 more instead of the one with all the useless physical crap that's $150.

well Ready at dawn never created a game that had a meta lower than 85. they have a strong track record. this should be another reason to feel confident in the game

God damn it... how am I suppose to read this? its in a foreign language... what the fuck is a Ru Weerasuriya

That's actually really interesting. Our brains are so used to watching film that adding lense distortions make it feel better. Wouldn't mesh well with oculus rift though.

I'm really starting to believe that this game is going to be one of the PS4's first generation defining games. The technologies they're working with, their inspirations, their vision for the game, and their excitement of having so many resources to work with. Not to mention their past success. Considering that they've said they want this to be a franchise, it makes me even more anxious to see what they've got. I don't know that I should feel so surprised though. This company was formed by former members of Naughty Dog and Blizzard.

So wait.  Let's say a game's release date is on the 20th.   Does Amazon actually ship on the 18/19th to get to you on the 20th?  Or do they ship on the 20th?

I have never pre-ordered a game from amazon but I have seen comments from people who said their package was waiting for them on launch day
