Forums - Sony Discussion - Vita Needs Help In NA+Europe... What Does Sony Need to Do?

Advertising and the recent price cut will have an effect. People need to know it happened from surfing general internet and watching their TV's. Personally, I think the reason people have been avoiding the Vita is because of initial hardware cost and the fact that the memory is quite expensive and necessary. Playing the Vita without at least a meager 4 GB is near impossible. The Vita has a lot of good games. Also if the Killzone game is good and gets good reviews, it will surely move some consoles. Killzone has a huge following.Gravity Rush is one of the best games this gen.  It, Uncharted: GA, Unit 13, P4G, Resistance, Escape Plan, and Ys all make it worth picking up alone.  Plus upcoming games for rest of year seem stronger than 3DS.  Your average person who does not read gaming news online does not know about these things.

I tink VGChartz is heavily undertracking Vita in NA and Europe, which they often do when it sells well there. I mean, it was doing (and still is) very well at Amazon USA and Amazon UK. Waiting for adjustments.

just giving you a heads up, dont expect it. #s should be very close, it sold bad, maybe killzone will push it?.... maybe

I have faith due to it having a definitive presence in Amazon's bestsellers. Also, KZ: M is always in the top 40 bestseller at Amazon UK, so I think it has a good chance of being successful there. Can't say about NA though.

It only needs EXCLUSIVE good games that will push someone to think: Oh that is a good game i want to play.. -what, its only on Vita?
But vita as of today has:
-lots of indi games -which is good ofc- BUT u can also find them on most platforms
-many games that are remade for it and most ppl have already played them

So cmon sony bring out the exclusives...

Give it a rest, tbone. Hardly any of Sony's first party studios have Vita games in development and they made an abysmal forecast for the current fiscal year which is Vita's second full year. It's clear that it's over.

Sigh, it is not over, it will be fine in Japan, and as the install base slowly grows iSony will entice more devs to make some third party games. People like you writing off platforms way toofast, I guess by your logic wii-u is dead too right?

sony does need more vita exclusives games, they will come as the install base grows a few more million. I suspect Sony is waiting for the holiday to advertise the price cut and killzone mercenary.

I refuse to beleive these numbers are accurate. They may not be as high as I predicted (37k) but they sure as hell aren't below 10k. But if they are actually below 10k then fuck Sony for not advertising the Vita at all.

The Vita actually has a better lineup the rest of the year than the 3DS but nobody will know since they're won't be a single ad for any of the games.

thats just wrong... Pokemon XY+LoZ>>>Vita library 2013 holiday. Dont get me started with japan. If you like vita lineup more cool, but pokemon is handheld king

Sure Pokemon is the king of not only handhelds but also on par with Mario/COD for King of all of gaming IMO. But what else does the 3DS have other than those 2? The Vita's Killzone and Tearaway will match the quality of Pokemon and Zelda then it will have Rayman, Ys, Final Fantasy X/X-2, Minecraft, and the what seems like hundreds of Indie games which whether you like it or not are actually good games. Looking at the 3DS's lineup besides Pokemon and Zelda theres Sonic and I guess Scribblenauts.

And before you say it, I know none of the Vita games combined will outsell Pokemon but that doesn't mean the Vita's games are bad by any means.

A stat I would be interested in seeing...How many people who "hate" the Vita or constantly say it is dead have ever even touched it, much less played Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, P4G, HSG, Unit 13, or any other excellent Vita games? I don't regret buying it at all, but I am also not going into it expecting it to be better than my PS3 or PC.

It's clear that it's over in what sense?  Vita outselling the 3DS?...im sure no one sane believes that anymore.

Western 3rd parties abandonment?   What major, AAA, system selling games (not including movie tie-ins) is the 3DS getting that vita is not?  Angry Birds Star Wars, Rayman, Minecraft, Batman?

That its going to be discontinued?  Nope, the system will remain viable in Japan and will receive the support to survive there.

Sony is not gonig to support it for a 10 year cycle?  Maybe

Sony's first party studios are not developing for the console yet because they dont want to jeopardize their more prized home console system. Which makes sense. Really do not know how people can expect Sony to masterfully support two system, a handheld and new upcoming console with ease, when every manufacturer, nintendo, sega, atari have failed doing so.

Too fast? Vita has been out for how long now?The too early argument might have held water last year and earlier this year, but at this point?

Sony doesn't seem to be giving it the support it needs, so of course, 3rd parties aren't either.

And in the case of WiiU, if it doesn't start picking up momentum later this year going into next year, then yeah, by all logic there shouldn't be any problem putting it in the same category as Vita.

first party game was never the key of the playstation success 3rd party game is

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

it's too late i don't think anything will help the vita, I mean who would risk making high profile games exclusive to the vita at this point, nobody

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
