Can anyone tell me if this is the lowest number of wiiU sold in Japan in it's lifetime, because I don't recall the wiiU doing lower then 8-9k in Japan. It is very sad, just when we thought the wiiU was getting the ball rolling and was over 10k, it crashes completely to 7k. As others have already stated, a 40% decrease over the previous week. Depressing indeed.

4.2k from Famitsu, 5.3k from Media Create not too long ago.

Bravo Platinum, for somehow convincing Nintendo this game would be worth their time and money. Seriously, bravo. I am way less worried about their ability to get work now because their sales pitches must be pretty damn convincing.

Next Persona

50-60k+

100k+

These were from some people that also sided with the Vita.

Really?  Here on VGChartz?

I remember some of the "the next Persona" comments, but I always thought they were jokes because it was obvious from the quality of the trailers that this was never going to be the next Persona.

I'm suprised by some of those predictions too.  You only had to look at ZeroDiv's pedigree to know that was out of the question barring some kind of Demon Gaze-esque anomolous surge of popularity.

I saw 50-60k+ here, 100k+ elsewhere.

You know, after the Nintendo bombs within the recent hour I would have thought this thread would be dead for a long while and that "that" certain game would be too. Next week, it'll hopefully be buried. I wonder what game next will enter my "Taboo" list.

TW101 at 5K must be a wake-up call for PG : they have to stop their exclusive relationship with Nintendo and address their fans, who are playing on PS360 and preordering PS4/X1, if they want to stay relevant.

Please, enough with this nonsense. There's nothing stopping Sony, Microsoft, or any other publisher from funding a game from Platinum on those consoles if they so desire. If you really were a fan of them as you imply, then you wouldn't be complaining about them having the support of a major publisher, even if it's not on the platform of your choice. Their games are not big sellers in general, so they can't afford to say no when these kind of offers show up.

He's still butthurt about Nintendo taking away Bayonetta 2. He's one of the very few people who still care about that.

No, it hit 4k once.

The problem is not there. Platinum games is developping multiplatform games right now but they can't talk about it for some reason. It's so irritating to see them doing Nintendo's communication and turning their back to many of their fans who played Bayonetta or Metal Gear Rising on PS360. And btw, WiiU is expensive and here's a limit to how much one person can support a developer.

Hardware all around down. Even the regular 3DS is aproaching sub 10k numbers (though the XL is still going strong).

Good sign on conception 2 Vita outselling the 3DS version for quite a bit. You can see the potencial of the Vita there.

This is a doomed week in Japan. No other words to say..

I didn't say anything about buying a WiiU or this game to support them. I can understand not being able or even willing to buy every platform out there for the few exclusives you want, as I happen to have a very limited budget for gaming myself. Still, it's obviously unrealistic to expect that all your favorite developers just stick to your platforms of choice, so eventually you're gonna have to make some choices. And just like Sony or Microsoft, Nintendo has every right to fund games from external developers for its platform. As a fan, you could at the very least be glad that Nintendo funded them when others didn't care to. As far as we know, The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 would not exist without their funding. And as long as they exist, there's the chance of playing them in the future somehow.

I don't think there's anything stopping Platinum from talking about their other projects though... It's just common sense not to talk about other games while you're trying to sell the already announced ones. In any case, if all this is really just about that as you claim, then I think it's a rather petty reason... And it's clearly not what you mentioned in your first post.

By the way, Platinum did have games before on Nintendo platforms: MadWorld and Infinite Space, not to mention the games from Clover Studio. The idea that their fans can only be on Sony/Microsoft platforms and nowhere else is obviously false, not to mention the fact that many of them could also be Nintendo fans, having more than one platform.
