It says so for Vita. If there's no online then I won't get it day one. I'm getting it to play my buddies really.

Definitely no online multiplayer, but there is co-op mutiplayer if you can meet your friends in person.

So this bit on Amazon is inaccurate?

Vita

"Local or Online Co-op: Play any Rayman Legends level in ad hoc co-op or over Wi-Fi."

If so I'll cancel my pre order since I have no need for it now really. I just wanted to play my friend back home. I'll get it later for personal enjoyment when I feel up to it. Great series but no online sucks.

More than likely outdated info.

The Steam version also lists the same information last I checked unless they updated it.

Edit: Yet the steam version only lists "Single Player", "Multiplayer" and "Local Co-Op" although not sure what the difference between MP and Local Co-Op is lol but from what I've searched people are cancelling pre-orders cause it has no Online MP lol.

Ubisoft dropped the ball on this big time.

Edit: Although I find it odd that they added this part in the description still

NEW ONLINE CHALLENGES MODE: Connect with your friends through an endless variety of challenges through five different stages that will test more than your skill and speed! Return for new challenges both daily and weekly and check the leaderboard to see where you rank around the world.

Well then ... Pre-order cancelled. I'll get it later when cheap. Great series, but at this point I just want to play with my friends and have a good time. Ill play Dragon's Crown with them still. My friends and I were lining up to buy Origins and then we learned it didn't have online coop, so that was 60 X 4 that was lost. We each got it at 20 instead. Rayman is one of those platformers that is MUCH better with friends.

This is the opposite of what I was hoping to accomplish with this thread.

Ubisoft, I'm sorry for bringing this to people's attention.

Won't really affect Wii U sales though, and that's the only place where I care about it doing well frankly.

it will affect all of them except for maybe the Vita version. They are charging 60 bucks for a game that has local but no MP...in 2013 people will see this and say "no thanks im good" or "ill wait" before someone says but Mario, Rayman is no Mario, not even DK just look at the sales of Origins when it first came out.

Matter of fact on the subject of WIi U Rayman is more popular in Europe guess which system is NOT popular in Europe, guess which one is? food for thought

Wii U owners will be less put off by local only. Nintendo gamers are not so online focussed.

this is true but its not like Rayman is very popular on Ninty consoles anyway and thats kind of my point. Rabbids series notwithstanding.

lol To be honest, if I knew from the beginning this wasn't going to have online coop I would have preparred myself for that. But for months we all thought it would - even Amazon has online coop via wifi for the Vita version. These days I have little time to game so when I do I prefer to play with friends. I'll catch up on the solo experience when I have time around the holidays. I'll just get it around then.  For now I'll get other coop/mp games to play with friends. While I don't like that Mario 3d land won't have online coop on Wii U, I respect Nintendo for letting us know about the status early.

I'm just saying, this news will not be a big deal to most potential Wii U buyers.

Damn... false alarm eh. Black Friday it is.

Thanks Bas!
