Forums - Sony Discussion - DualShock 4 is about to revolutionize the gaming industry

It might have some cool uses, but "revolutionary" I don't think so.

If you believe in the touchpad experience that much just buy a WiiU. SImples.

And you really had to quote this huge ass long article just to say that?!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Honestly, like most people here, I didn't really read it... but if the touchpad is so "revolutionary," what does that mean about the Wii U gamepad? A lot of the same could be said about that. Revolutionize is way too big of a word for something like this. Makes you wonder sometimes.

yeah... :)

I don't see either the PS4 or new Xbones controller being particularly revolutionary at all. I don't think many people are really going to care.

Wii U gamepad has a touchscreen "that's such a gimmick, it will do nothing for gaming"
DS4 has a touchpad "wow, this going to revolutionize gaming as we know it"

It's a MUCH better idea than the gimmicks that are Sixaxis and Kinect. It will probably have more uses than the wii mote and Move. But at the end of the day, it won't be a game changer for anyone.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I think your whole post is way,way overblown. It's nothing but an extra button option. No ones going to bye the ps4 version just so they can use the touchpad. that even sounds crazy, when I say it.

I'll reserve my judgment until I can get hands-on. The problem I foresee is that the touch pad will require adjusting the grip in order to use conveniently, taking you out of the immersion of the game.

110% not going to revolutionise anything. Although I do like the light bar and idea of the touch pad, its up to indie devs to find a cool purpose. Sony has already demonstrated with the move that their internal teams are not up to the task of utilising it properly. I'm hoping they'll at least allow us to use the lightbar for sniper/precision aiming.
