And they make, what I'm pretty sure is the most played game in the word - the Solitaire game designed to teach people how to use a mouse.

I hate Solitaire on Windows 8. sure, it has Achievements and everything, but it takes HOURS to load up. On Windows 7, I clicked on Solitaire and BAM, there it was. No delay whatsoever. On Windows 8, whether it's Solitaire or Minesweeper, I have to wait. It loads the game, it logs into Xbox Live and stuff like that. It's really annoying. Sure, I don't have the fastest notebook on earth, but with my old Win 7 notebook, which was considerably slower, I didn't have such problems. I rather play Solitaire 3D on 3DS now. I'm dead serious. I paid 5 € just to be able to play Solitaire again without those endless loading times.

On topic: Sony, no competition.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Sony, they make the most varied range of games and constantly create new ips.

Anyone saying Nin cause of few wii game sales needs to get into modern times. WiiU shows exactly what would happen in this scenario. While MS fans need to get over MS bank account, they are in this to make money not win a fanboy war. They would not waste billions to make a few extra ips over sony and nin just cause you think a corporation cares about what you want lol.

Hmm, it's a tough one. Make new exclusives? MS would and could just money hat everything... But "make" new exclusives? It's impossible to tell. Whoever has the most studios would win in the short run but the other companies would just open more, thus creating more games out of necessity.

makes you wonder why they didn't just money hat everything last gen..... or this gen for that matter... .how is ps4 getting exclusive content from bungie's next game, watch dog, and the next assassins creed..... when microsoft could just money hat everything?

They could try to moneyhat the whole industry if they wanted.. Key word there was, "wanted". Gaming is pocket change to MS.

Nintendo has cool old IPs, sometimes makes cool new IP.

But only once every 10 years, so that does not count.

I'll gor for Sony, I'm not a fan of motion gaming and even if Rare were to do something else again, that would just be Rare and nothing else original.

Nintendo already proved with Wii and DS that they can create several new IPs which can be 10+ or even 20+ million sellers.

Only if the casuals bite though. They haven't been able to do that with the WiiU and 3DS.

People saying Nintendo wouldn't make it.

They use their old IPs because they can. They are staples. If they were forced, not even Sony could match their creativity.

Ubisoft!

Those creative guys come up with new stuff all the time. They work with everyone on everything.

They are limitless.

i am talking about the big 3. ubisoft is french, so even if they dominate the gaming industry they wont ever be from the big 3

That's why I chose 'See Results'  Cause I thought it was a little narrow.

Well, Sony makes games for their consoles and handhelds.  Nintendo makes games for their consoles and handhelds.  Microsoft makes games for their operating system Windows, Windows Phone, Tablets, and the Console.  And they make, what I'm pretty sure is the most played game in the word - the Solitaire game designed to teach people how to use a mouse.

But people would get all mad if I said that.  Then think, yea, they do make/publish a whole bunch of games most 'gamers' never think about.  Then people would realize, I have a point, but still hate it.  I would get called bias 'n stuff.

I didn't realize Microsoft invented Solitaire.

nintendo, because using the same gameplay with a different character and calling it a new ip (basically what others to) would not affect the huge quality of their games.

Nintendo and Sony proved both, that they can create high quality new IPs. As people usually say, that Nintendo only has Mario, here the new IPs from Nintendo in the last years:
* Dillon's Rolling Western
* Freakyform Deluxe
* Pullblox/Fallblox (Pushmo and Crashmo in the US)
* Xenoblade Chronicles
* Wonderful 101
* Nintendoland
Sony also has a good track-reord:
* The Last of Us
* Beyond
* PSASBR
* Heavy Rain

So basically I say Sony and Nintendo can do new IPs. Microsoft probably can do, but on a smaller scale (so far). To be fair, it takes time to build the resources. Sony also needed a long time to build the first party devs they have now. So we can expect Microsoft to pick up on that later.

So your first question is, who would have the best new IPs. That's difficult, because the best is very subjective. Sony-fans prefer Sony-games, because otherwise they wouldn't be Sony-fans in the first place. Same with Nintendo and Microsoft. So the answer on this question depends really on the person who answers.

The second question is, who would sell more. Well, that is easier. Nintendo already proved to have the best selling games, regardless if they are old or new IPs. So Nintendo will probably win in this category.

Sony.. just take a look at the new IP ratio this gen.

nintendo hasnt made any new IP's for about a decade now so who knows if they still have the magic to create mascots?. they are like a sports star that was big 20 years ago, but has now long retired. we cant just assume that they are still capabe after so long.

microoft barely makes any games themselves... they just throw money at 3rd party developers for mostly timed exclusivity. if they had to actually develop new IP's with their own studios they would probably have some high quality ones, but a severe lack in quantity just because they own like what.. 6 studios.. and out of those how many are being treated like RARE and being put on kinect fun seasons laboratoy sports showelvare?
