Forums - Microsoft Discussion - With X1, I am better than you

While I am bias, this thread is.....exaggerated. If it crosses a line mods, please let me know.

From 2006-2009, a familiar quote from PS gamers was: "Xbox 360 is the now, PS3 is the future". With Wii blazing through the sales charts and 360 building upon its head start and sales momentum in the early first years, the PS3 was seen by its own fans as the high-end niche. Yes, they were losing, but they held their heads high and took pride in what it offered via hardware and software.

I believe I shall take a page from their book of that period. Xbox One will carve out its own niche, except with this generation it will most likely be 2nd place in a couple years.....rather then taking 7 years to take it ;) So really, tis all good from our perspective.

Kinect is ultra-modern. Do we need it? Well no but do we need to game in the first place? This is a luxury, a form of escape, why not get as much cool toys to enhance it as much as possible? I can play games with my standard controller, but use kinect voice commands to complment the gameplay seamlessly. I don't need any headset strapped to my head to issue commands......this isn't the 80's people. Wireless is the new "in" thing, try to get with the times.

With Kinect included, the price of the console is $500. I am now confirmed to have more disposable income then you and money is not an object when I want something that entertains me. I am not driven by price but by desire. I am now a high end buyer and you are now part of the middle masses. FYI, that was pretty much the vibe from 2006, how PS gamers made Nintendo/MS fans feel. Now I can have that feeling.

God forbid we throw a party with gamers who don't play COD, GTA, Halo, and Uncharted. You know......cliche Teen B-movie popular girls that only know who "Mario" is but never touched a controller in their lives. Kinect party games will liven the place up. I will be more versatile then you, because I, unlike you, have the capacity to entertain "non-gamers" with video games and you can't. Enjoy your guy-only party taking turns playing (insert core videogame here).

The marketplace is crowded as it is. I can say what I want and the results give me everything that is related to it, brought right to me. You have to scroll with a joystick......how stone-age of a process. The console recognises my face and turns on to the sound of my voice. I could be walking down the stairs and have it on and waiting for me. What about you? Is your console semi sentient? Do you feel like you have your own JARVIS from Iron Man? No.....sorry no feeling of living the trendy, tech savy lifestyle for you. I can Skype with my friends instantly. You either use your phone, PC, or through the internet browser in your console? So either you use something that isn't your console OR you jump through a bunch of hoops to use what I see as seamless. Interesting.

Starting to like the sound of Kinect 2.0 and look forward to having that same feeling of smug superiority, despite losing, that the PS fans felt in the PS3's first years. Getting giddy just thinking about it.

Bolded: I don't think there's anything "higher end" about the Xbone in regards to the 8th generation as in contrast to what the PS3 is/was to the 7th. But hey, whatever makes you feel good.

Actually the entire post I wrote explains why its higher-end. Not spec wise, but feature wise.

Quite the contrary. My eyes are opened.

If WiiU picks up and remains a healthy 2nd over X1 in last.....then I will be really, ridiculously bitter
