Nothing wrong with wanting your big, sexy AAA games, too. It's just that as they become more and more complex and expensive to make, we find ourselves waiting half a decade or more for games like BioShock Infinite. Compare that to games like FF6, which took just one year to make. Yesterday's AAA games are today's indies! (Or vice versa, whatever.)

I would say right now is worst period because we have new systems out.  When you see titles (however excellent they may be) that could be done on current tech or even ten year old tech you ask "why do I need a PS4 or X1 for that?"  Early in a  generation many want that show piece title to justify their major initial investment.

I agree and hope gaming does see game evaluated on various metrics rather than just graphics.  Dragon's Crown look beautfiul to me, yet I heard multiple times how because it was old style beat 'em up it should be $20 day one while a mediocre polygon based game gets a free pass on perceived value.

Because they don't have physical copies.

I love Indie games, but there is no denying that a lot of them are shit and the Media tend to give some of them a free pass because of their Indie status.

Change "indie" to "AAA" and this sentence is still true.

LMAO funniest thing I've seen the past few weeks.

cos i cant resell them

Don't hate them, they just don't interest me.

edit: Also way too many of them try to hard to be like the games we played 25 years ago, but they just lack the soul that Mario, Zelda and Mega Man had

A legitimate complaint, and one I made note of yesterday.

But now that EA of all companies is offering returns on digital games, albeit in a limited capacity, how long can it be until the ability to resell digital copies is a thing?
