PS4 will beat all records without a game from Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog or Polyphony Studios announced for PS4 yet.

This have to be scary for the competition....

More like the fans of the competition.

They are in that group too.....;)

Sony is throwing these hard jabs since February and will have record sales during release. And when Microsoft finally gets a bit of momentum Sony will drop the bombs. Studio after studio releasing their first year PS4 games first with inFamous SS. And when Microsoft finally thinks it can breath for their E3 conference one hour later sony will drop the "Naughty Dog Bomb" with gameplay footage of whatever they're making first. And those studios keep on growing as well.

Guerilla Games went from 1 game to 2 to 3 (Killzone franchise and new IP)

Santa Monica has 2 teams working on AAA games (both unknown games) and they always work with other studios to provide mostly smaller games

Ready at Dawn went from PSP AAA games to PS4 AAA games with an awesome engine

Naughty Dog has 2 teams fully working on AAA games however If I look to the available job positions they will have a third team soon (probably to release every year a new game)

Polyphony will probably receive major improvement thanks to input of all other studios releasing a better Gran Turismo anyone could ever imagine.

There are still more studios like Media Molecule, Japan Studios and Sucker Punch having great teams. And there'll be many more. It's an awesome time to be a gamer in general. Hateful for a small amount of fanboys.

I pre-ordered today. I was told there is no guarantee I will have it on the day of release because they have so many pre-orders.

I enquired about the XB1, which I intend to purchase next spring, and was told that the ratio of PS4 to XB1 pre-orders is 5:1 in that store.

Playstation 2 launched in Japan on March 4 2000. Ps2 shipments for fiscal year ending March 31 2000 was 1'41 million units. Later it launched in USA in October, and Europe and Australia in November 2000. PS2 reached 10'61 millions units shipped at 31 March 2001 shipping 9'20 millions units in Fiscal Year 2001 In the next Fiscal Year Ps2 shipped 18'07 units.

PS4 will sell much more at launch, but the question is, if it will be capable or reach ps2 levels in its second year

At 400$/€ Sony is definitely aiming to quickly gain installed units and make profits with game sales/subscriptions, so I think Sony will target above 10 million in shipments for 2014, but 15m+ would be extremely ambitious, as they never shipped that many PS3s in a FY.

LIES! Console gaming is dead!!!!

I don't think would be ambitious at all, i think is a certainty. If PS3 almost sold 15m various years, with Wii's bombastic sales. Now without that oposition, PS4 will sell 20m eventually in a FY.

Pre ordered mine just recently, thanks to my very convincing co-worker. ugh my wife will kill me.

So over 1 million preordered. I guess that's pretty good but I expected it to be higher since its been sold out at many places.

Not surprising. Someone should ask MS about their number

All I know is MS is already advertsing in America more as a cable reciever and entertainment hub rather than a gaming console. Have not seen or heard Sony advertisements yet. Pretty awesome to me if Sony can even equal preorders for the bone here when it is being advertized so strongly already.

Yeah, numbers would be nice.
