Both sides are trippy.

I dare say Sony looks like it is trolling and getting cocky. This worries me as we saw what happened from ps2 to ps3. Meanwhile, MS has its shortcomings still in clear perspective so MS is more poised to do whatever it takes to be better about pleasing customers while Sony might become complacent due to hype and high pre-orders.

There are still a lot of unknown variables for me in regards to both consoles, but currently the X1 has a lot greater potential for growth and capabilities over the ps4. Not going to get into a detailed list but Modding > indie support at launch.

Why do you think mods won't be supported or allowed on the PS4? I don't see why it would be any different for the PS4.

Very true! I had thought about this, and Sony could easily do this (especially if architechture is really that much easier for programming / engines) However, only MS has said that every console will be a dev kit, and Sony shyed away from other OS because of abuse so its hard to tell at this point. The modding feature versus support means to me that it may never happen, but currently sounds like MS is more open to it. Also the idea of every X1 being a dev kit means free distrubution at some point, which I don't really see MS supporting at all but could happen and make X1 the console for more fun via mods and free indie games. There has not been nearly enough hype about this issue though to warrant any speculation that Sony would do the same... the only way I see this happening is by X1 market share growing and using such a feature rather than exclusive dlc (timed or other wise)

That is why I'm more interested in X1 currently (as a potential indie dev / modder) over ps4. I may buy the ps4 first for KZ:SF, but I really want DR3 as well... if MS had both these games it would be a no brainer for me. I plan on placing my pre-order at Walmart this weekend when they start taking pre-orders... not sure which I'll get first. ATM X1 is more appealing for potential usage. If I get the X1 first I may not get the ps4, but if I get the ps4 first I'll most likely still get the X1...

We don't even know what Sony's best studios are working on right now and X1 fans are claiming victory? When it comes to AAA development, we know what Sony is capable of. We have 7 years of evidence with the PS3 alone. Sony fans are in the right when they say this: wait. Sony has not shown their best games yet. It's too early to make that judgement and you guys know it.

Then maybe sony fans should take their own advice and wait before claiming victory on a generation that hasnt even started yet.

Well, as Xbox fan, I don't like being attacked by somebody else. But, I have to admit that MS was fucked up due to their vision and policy.

However, I think both consoles have games I really want to play. So I will get them all and stay aside to see the stupid fanboy wars and laugh...

Also amazing how how Sony fans think they have this in the bag. The console has not even launched yet but they are throwing a party like they're ten million ahead in and it's the first month of launch.
