Forums - Gaming Discussion - More than 1 million PS4 pre-orders worldwide!

Sony will sell out on launch day and it will likely be difficult to find a ps4 until the new year much as it was with the 360 and ps4 launches. The preorder numbers are impressive but I think gamers have become accustomed to the necessity of preorders at console launches around the holiday season.

Considering PS2 got a 980k start from Japan 'm expecting a 1.2 million start from PS4 in that region..

Really?  Home consoles don't seem to be as popular as they were during the PS2 era.  Not sure if it'll have the games yet either.

You wanna bet on if the  PS4 will have a bigger lauch than PS2?

No, sorry I'm not the type to take bets.  Just saying, I don't think it's likely.  But I'm sure others would be willing to bet.  Like I said I doubt it'll have many big games day 1, if any.  Pretty much all of the games announced for release window are for the western market.  I'd love to be wrong and see some fantastic stuff at TGS, but as it stands that's my opinion.

That's cool...but I must admit we both agree on one thing a 980k launch for ANY CONSOLE including the PS4 will be an extremely hard feat to pass.
