Like Nsanity said, some retailers were selling the Vita at $299, sure the memory cards were still the same but I don't think it will change anything. Borderlands 2 won't save it because unless you are a die hard fan there's no reason to pick up the game again, the rest were indie games which won't make the system sell outside of small market who already has one or plans to buy one.

An official price cut may give the system a small boost during a couple of weeks, but with no software to back it up the boost won't last long.

I was worried till they showed Assassin's Creed remote play.

Vita past this holiday will forever only get smaller/non graphic whore games. Sony is really pushing it as a PS4 companion and I think that will save it. Price cut is just a necessary part of that.

Since the Vita got a price drop, I sense this might force Nintendo to release a Nintendo HDS sometime in the future depending on how well the Vita sells. :P

What does this even mean ?

I think he is implying a redesign with HD resolution. Don't think about it too hard. It's a pretty awful idea and the acronym doesn't work.

ah, ok...what a dumb idea (but I think he was just joking)

From amazon.com:

32 GB

$78.51 $99.99

16 GB

$37.00 $59.99

8 GB

$23.13 $29.99

4 GB

$13.98 $19.99

Still no compelling software and that won't help Sony's loss situation with each system sold.

Unfortunately, I don't think he was joking.

I guess that's... better? Still significantly more expensive than most SD cards.

That said, maybe this isn't the official drop, and it's just Amazon lowering prices in anticipation.

Pricecut means nothing without compelling software to push the platform.

Vita has nothing.

Its over.

Im not sure if Carl is being sarcastic or not but whatever the case his post is correct. Price is always a barrier but not always the most important one. We buy consoles to play them not to watch them. Vita could be $150 but if there is no software that pushes people to pick if up they wont. Rude awakening incoming.

Well... my vita Lifetime numbers increased from 6 million to 6.5 million

I am pretty disappointed in Sony... They of all people should know that games sell hardware not addons such as remote play... Grr the only reason I am not selling mine is for hopes of Gravity rush 2 or an exclusive FF game... Come on Sony... Your lack of exclusive game support is terriable
