Mostly reviews are just superficial and full of bias more or less like forum posts. If you really want to know if a game is good or bad you have to try it.
The issues whith this games sound a lot like the issues whith DKC: "the control response is not immediate you have to get used to it and I'm lazy", or like the issues whith Dark Souls: "this game is difficult and it doesn't tell me where to go in any moment and I'm lazy."
In the end, you'll get the best score on metacritic by making a good looking presentation and rendering the game as conforming as possible.

Except Dark Souls reviewed much better and the Wonderful 101 score will only go down as more  sites review it.

I've never expected W101 to score better than my fav game of the last 5 years, still Dark Souls was cirtized by many rewievers the way I mantioned. I could make some more examples if you want, but the underlined fact doesn't change: many reviews are unreliable and the "metacritic system" rewards only conforming games.

I'm not saying you should trust reviews either (at least not to an extent where I solely base my purchasing decisions), just that example was kinda off.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I wasn't too hyped for the game before playing the demo but now that I have, W101 is definitely on my to buy list.

Ah ok, it was just a misunderstanding.

people need to get over scores lol.

Depending on what country the reviews are coming from how they define their numbers will define what the score is,

You can't just assume a 6 is bad or 7 is bad etc..

as a good example, look at the education system across the world, every country has their own scaling system and level of difficulty. So a 70 in one country may be equivalent to a 90 in another simply cause the content is harder.

MY ADVICE:

1. read the words not the score.

2. PLay the demo and make up your own mind or prepair for your kids to be mindless zomibes if you can;t think for yourself lol.

Still a 79, now out of 19 critics!

Nintendo finally has a new IP for their console and all people are doing are bickering about game reviews. I never trusted game reviews and I'd rather judge for myself if a game is worth my time or not. Thankfully THERE IS A FREE DEMO for all to try (unlike Pikmin3) to see if this game is their cup of tea. I for one was impressed with the visuals, gameplay, and presentation(some of you might not be) especially seeing that this is a new Nintendo IP (not that this matters). So now I am holding out my SplinterCell:Blacklist and Pikmin3 purchase to pick this one up.

I'm still buying the game over Pikmin 3, but I would be lying if I said the demo didn't leave me a little confused and a bit frustrated by the controls. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's happening as well.

They've only counted 11 critics yet.

And I don't think you should let a 5-point difference in Metascore get you down, anyway.

In most people's mind video game scores go like this:

8:

9 and up:

I think you got 8 and 9 mixed up...your 9 is just a little too slutty for my taste.  Anyone agree?
