Forums - Gaming Discussion - RUMOUR: Redesigned Vita (VitaXL?)

Doesn't make a lot of sense, unless Sony wants it to function more as a controller for the PS4 and less as an independent handheld system.

I'd rather just have more interesting, exclusive games, to be honest.

Nope. They cant change the ammount of RAM. That would be a huge middle finger to the people that bought the current model.

Increasing the screen size is ludicrous aswell. The things is huge at it is. What would make sense is a slim model.

They want to make the device cheaper, not more expensive :)

So unless the screen/memory increases are actually a way for them to save money.. I dont see it.

It doesn't need to be slimmer, the device itself feels really comfortable in the hands. Maybe same size, but lighter and with internal memory

No chance.

Maybe Sony realized that what they're trying to do with the PS4/Vita cross play required more ram for the Vita and they kind of messed up.

Not the route I was thinking for them to save the Vita. Still hoping its fake and give me a Vita Go!

There's a rumor that Sony's making games for the Vita too

I hope that Sony doesn't actually think that the Vita's screen is the problem... And LOL at the Vita Go. PSP Go bombed. What makes anyone think a Vita Go on a failed handheld will fair better?

- Bigger screen, making it even LESS portable
- More RAM, but it can't be used by games at all
- No mention of any pricecut for old models
- No mention of new connectors (namely HDMI)

Not only do I not buy this rumor, I hope to God it isn't true. It sounds completely idiotic, in that it doesn't address any of the current model's problems or adds new ones. The last thing they should be doing is putting out a bigger, more expensive model when people don't want the current ones at it's asking price.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

Bigger screen? The thing doesn't fit in pockets now. This might as well be played only at home then (hello Virtual Boy problem). How would this make it cheaper. That is the whole problem with Vita. And not using normal memory cards. This can't be real.
