Why? The PS3 userbase is 70+ million strong. Not all those people are going to get a PS4 at launch. It would be foolish for Sony to not continue to tap into that userbase for revenue. One of the reasons why I prefer Sony over MS is because Sony continues to support their consoles well after the initial 4-5 years of their lifecycles. To still have games like TLoU and GT6 be released in year 7 of the console's lifecycle is further confirmation that the PS3 was the better long-term investment. It also validates what Sony said about caring for the gamers. That's actually not BS. They fully intend to keep their promise of supporting their consoles for the full 10-year lifecycle.
Also, not every market is getting the PS4 this year. Many of them probably won't get it 'til 2014 and beyond. Sony contined to release games for the PS2 well after the PS3's launch.
