Nope...you misunderstand.

You are entitled to disagree, but to outright say "You are Wrong!" and tear apart a positive thread is another matter. I like X1 more then PS4, but that doesn't mean I think PS4 is a bad console.

It is a weak list considering that some of the things listed won't be there until next year and the very first feature is something that hasn't yet been comfirmed. Not to mention the same could be said of the ps4 regarding many of these features on a list that's supposed to give reasons as to why to choose the Xbox One this December. And yes- many features were left out of the list that actually do make the Xbox One better in some ways. And yes, Microsoft could do anything to the Xbox One and there would still be people claiming it's better than the PS4.In fact it has already happened when Microsoft originally announced the Xbox One. Many people on Vgchartz were defending Microsoft's policies (I'm guessing you were one of them, maybe not, but those people exist on this site).

His post was completely reasonable, but because he used the f-word , he had to be put in a corner.

I was one. In fact their back pedalling has made me wantthe xbox one less. I was looking for a company to bring console gaming to the next stage (digital) and what they showed was the best way to bridge the gap for going all digital, but still allowing disc distribution. I know others all over the internet went nuts over a small check in every 24 hrs, but it was the only reasonable way to go all digital and still have discs for those that want them. As a steam gamer i see the benifit in all digital as it allows pubs, devs, and retailers more flexibilty in pricing and sharing revenue. The current retail model only keeps console game prices high. Look at the deals that come on pc, heck this morning I bought the newest humble bundle EA pack for 5 bucks and got like 6 games all worth playing, and some that are fairly new. Can't find that on consoles. Not to mention the ease of me switching from pc to laptop to play my games. They are on both at all times.

The Xbox One is really looking like an amazing system. From every aspect. Games, multimedia  and socially.

1. $499 gets you a full blown Dev kit. Making a full mod comunity a real posibility for the first time in console history.

2.Massive focus on core gamers. Hugely varied first year lineup. Big budget AAA games.

3. Not only is the console a dev kit, but comes with 3 different control methods out of the box at no extra cost.

4. Powerful insides with the ability out of the box to take advantage of Cloud rocessing as that becomes moree and more accessible over the next 2-3 years.

5. The ability to handle true multitasking and instant switching.

6. Innovations like pulse triggers on the controller and a revolution in rumble feedback.

7. HDMI in/out. Big possibilities here through software.

8. Xbox Live Arcade. Its untouchable, especially now dev kits are available to everyone. Microsofts investment into XBLA games like Brothers : A Tale of Two sons is incredible. XBLA has so many higgh budget exclusives this gen and next.

9. XBL ecosystem and  userbase.

10. HAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLOOOOOOO

The PS4 is really looking like an amazing system. From every aspect. Games, multimedia  and socially.

1. $399 gets you a full blown gaming system, instead of a cable box that can also be used for gaming.

2. Massive focus on core gamers. Hugely varied first year lineup. Big budget AAA games.

3. Comes with 2 control methods, one of them a conventional controller and the other the PS Eye which you can choose whether or not you want it, unlike Kinect.

4. Powerful insides with the ability out of the box to take advantage of Cloud processing as that becomes more and more accessible over the next 2-3 years.

5. The ability to record your gameplay, virtually hand your controller to someone else, show others your accomplishments in games, etc

6. Innovations like a touch pad on the controller, or a light on the top that can be used to detect damage in game or can be used for motion control.

7. HDMI in/out. Big possibilities here through software.

8. PSN Store. It's untouchable. So many indie titles, multiple free games with Playstation Plus, classic PS and PS2 titles available on it.

9. PSN Ecosystem and userbase.

10. KILLLLLLZZOOOOOONNNNNEEEEEEE

Most of that was trolling, I have nothing against the Xbox One. However when it comes down to it, the PS4 is a better bargain and you get 10x more exclusives than what you would get with the Xbox One. Plus the Kinect, ugh. Even though you can disconnect it now, they should just drop that thing entirely.  There is essentially nothing that can evoke me to buy an Xbox One, because I can pretty much do everything I can do on it with the PS4 (in some cases it's better on PS4) Besides developing and modding, but I wasn't going to use that on the Xbox One anyway. Wii U still owns both of them though ;)

Yeah, I have been really excited for the whole year. I get the feeling that X1 can become the new thing that caters for families (through cable and Kinect), core gamers (through AA and Xbla) and Indie developers (through the dev kit option). This could mean that they don´t win initially but rather in the long run.

Also, Project Spark kind of shows that the plan for X1 to be used as a dev kit, was there all along, they just wanted the right venue to make it public in.

Also, imagine what the Indie community can produce now that they every X1 comes packed with a Kinect!

I read a comment in another website where a user basically explained how the xbox one basically lost its identity. It originally came out as the true, next gen console with features that no other console was implementing and how it was evolving to fit in a online-oriented world, blah blah. Now, it's really not much different from the PS4. Sure, they have some different features, hardware and exclusives, but to me, they once again have the title of "HD twins." Still, the changes made by MS, in my opinion, are for the better.

I wanted to post something like this. Perfect.

OP - I prefer PS4 over Xbox One. It's just more powerful, smaller console.

it means nothing until the kinectless sku comes out for me.

Not gonna happen. Unfortunately. Shame because would have been good to have you in our new Mod comunity thread coming up on The Ones launch.

i will when halo 5 comes out, but since the lastest news of not having to have the kinect connected to play on the xbo, i dont see why not at some point. to me it seems more likely of happening before halo 5 is released. who knows at this point.

I think it will split te demographic. So they wont do that. Same as Wii Mote on Wii was.

Considering what you get in the box ( dev kit, controller, headset, Kinect ) The price is amazing. Normally devkits cost $10,000 +.

You sound like a Sony fan in 2006.  The price isn't amazing no matter what's in the box.  I want a machine to play games.  There are machines out there that will play 95% of the available XBOne games - plus others - for $299-$399.  Right now, XBOne is not the system to own.  That may change in the future.

But thats cool if you dont like mods. But if Microsoft come through with what they said about modding, then games like Skyrim will be 1000's of times better on Xbox One than PS4. Granted PC will still exist in the same modding vien. But PS4 will be left in the dust for games like that. Mods that add levels, change graphics, change characters, add new modes. Thats the potential from having a devkit in every owners house. The pool of talent goes outside of the development community and into the bedrooms. Just like PC gaming for the last 10 years.

Potentially, we could get old school Final Fantasy clones with newer amazing visuals from some guy in his basement.

Yes Xbox One will have a MUCH bigger indeie scene than PS4. In fact I predict a HUGE amount of bedroom Indie devs by gens end and a landslide in exclusives for Xbox One that just can never appear on PS4 due to Xbox One being a devkit at retail.

Do we think it will be possible for PS4 to a dev kit like X1 or is this a hardware thing? Because it would be cool If both consoles got their own mods for games, making the games even more unique :)

can't wait for x1!!!

Sony has already allowed modding on the Ps3. Thats why Ps3 got UT3 and 360 didn't
