Yeah I get that they're spare codes for games they already have (or in this case origin codes when they've already used the steam ones), it just seems a bit iffy to me that someone would use these codes rather than pay a pittance to charity. Just to clarify, this is more a criticism of the people using the codes  than the people giving them.

I take on board your hypothetical situation of someone not having the money to buy the bundle, and it would be fair enough if they use the codes I suppose, but given that these codes are on a public forum it would have to be a pretty big coincidence that the person who uses them is also someone who couldn't afford the 5 dollars (or as little as one dollar if they don't want to pay above the average and get the 2 bonus games).  On the other hand the person who can't be bothered entering their credit card number to set up an amazon or paypal account but can be bothered setting up an origin account can fuck right off.

It just feels like the net affect of this well intentioned thread will be charities losing money.

Are you American?

No. Why?

Just trying to understand your psychological, systematic and philosophical base for why you would assume its wrong to give free numbers out to people. Your mentality seems to align itself with neo-conservatism in America. It was just a first guess. Heres another question: I am sure you would love to give your family or friends presents if you can regardless of their economic situation (ie: Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries or other special occasions), correct?

As I said earlier, my issue would be with the people using the keys rather than those who are giving them away. I'm not sure how you got neo-con from that but anyway, to answer your question (and I think I can see where this is going) yes of course I would.

This is very generous and thoughtful of you guys to give away the codes, but given that it only costs 5 dollars to get all these games and it's for charity don't you think it might be better to just let people buy the bundle themselves?

I think the idea is moreso that if someone picks up the bundle and they own some of the games on the list already they can offer them to the community here rather than just throwing the code in a bin. and yeah 5 dollars might not seem like a lot but you also have to go to the bother of hooking up your credit card to pay for it which not everyone can do easily. or heck 5 bucks could be better spent on food for some people but with a free code of a game they can both have food and play games to take their mind off shit with money for a few hours.

you legit never know how some people are with money or what they have to take into account before they can spend even 5euros on games, check your pms.

My Premenstrual syndrome?

Seriously though, like I said if you really, really can't afford 1 dollar then fine, but how likely is it that the people using these codes are also the people who can't afford that 1 dollar. Not very likely, i'd guess

private messages, the little yellow ! in the top right of your screen. Guess all you want, that doesn't mean you are right.

edit - You know if your main issue with this is the fact that charity isn't getting enough money, think about it, people on here giving codes away to others for free is exactly what charity is, giving something you have to someone who doesn't have stuff. Ok so you don't believe that anyone who would bother quickly trying to nab a code for a game to play something really needs the charity, but who's to say that anyone who accepts the charity money which comes from the Humble bundles would need it? nothing stopping a rich person accepting handouts of cash.

I said unlikey, not impossible. As I mentioned earlier (twice!) I wouldn't have a problem with someone who genuinely can't afford it using the codes. Not that I'm some sort of moral police.

Any steam codes left?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Any codes left? :|

Well, if you have the money its only 5 bucks starting to get the bundle but because its a charity and it goes to people in need a bit more might be best.

P.S.

It doesn't go to EA. :)

To be honest, I don't really want anything from the list because either I already have the game or don't want it. But I like freebies.

It's basic supply and demand.

Say you see a charity stand that is selling a two pack of red and blue notebooks.  So you buy a few... but you only like red.

So you set up a stand giving away blue notebooks.    People walk buy take the notebooks, but then check then see the charity sale later.  Seems pretty obvious that some of them might of spent money for charity then... but won't now.

So the smartest thing to do, would be to hold on to the Blue notebooks until after the charity sale ends.

Then give them out.  Thus maximizing charitable purchasing... and making sure that the people who get the freebies are 100% people who wouldn't of bought the charitable bundle.

Yeah, I totally understand your point and thought that through already. The thing is theres people who dont want the bundle at all nor most of the games on it. I played most of the games on console and will use these other games to get into the PC, so I am good. Got the Dead Space Trilogy today, so I am super happy. Any gamers who used my former codes, well I am happy for them.
