It Looks like Yakuza 1&2 HD Bombed on Wii U (looks like no western release)
Dual Shockers has peaked into the upcoming sales of the media create charts for Japan this week, and it seems Yakuza 1&2 HD bombed at retail.
Dual Shockers usually contacts Tsutaya, one of the biggest retailers in Japan to get an idea of how games are selling. Tsutaya has a high number of retail chains spread across Japan, so they tend to be accurate when predicting numbers.
The top 10 goes as follows:
Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life – 3DS
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - 3DS
One Piece: Romance Dawn – 3DS
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies – 3DS
Dragon’s Crown – PS3
Youkai Watch – 3DS
Tomodachi Collection: New Life – 3DS
Dragon’s Crown – PS Vita
The Witch and the Hundred Knights – PS3
Earth Defense Force 4 – PS3
The 3DS is doing well, and a few PS3 titles are holding strong, but Yakuza 1&2 HD failed to make the top 10 yet along the top 20 in sales.
This would be the first Yakuza game failing to make the top charts in Japan. However, Yakuza games are usually released on Sony platforms.
Both of the original PS2 games were released on the PS3 last year. Now all we need to know is where Pikmin 3 ended up.
