Would it be nicer to say you want the Vita to die a slow painful death or quickly in it's sleep? Everyone who wants the Vita to die must answer this question so we can learn how much of a horrible person you are.

Say what you want about Nintendo but the fact is they bust their ass on their handhelds and treat handhelds like home consoles.

Sony just doesn't want it bad enough, nor are their franchises that well suited for a small screen. Games like Uncharted and God of War are best left to a 40+-inch 1080p display.

I want both to do better.

I honestly would like to see some kind of scenario where Sony exits the handheld business, but opts to work with Nintendo on a future portable platform that can be integrated into their cell phones and tablet designs.

I want the Vita to do well but if it isn't going to be supported properly it deserves to fail.

This. As long as Sony is treating the Vita like this they don't deserve better. How many first party exclusives are releasing this year for the Vita? Killzone, Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice. Anything else? That's extremely pathetic.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Sony needs to repurpose Sony Japan and Sony Europe to make some of their Vita games. The Japanese crowd will keep the portables alive. They are rather lost if they dont realize that. Coupled with great second and third party support they could revive the old feeling of the PSP but as it stands so far they wont cause anyone to even budge when looking at their portable.

It does deserve to do better...but with the lack of support and TLC Sony have been given the Vita, it doesn't deserve to beat the 3DS outright, even if the system is technically better, HW wise.

So you were one in the PASBR vs SMash thread who said PASBR looked better?

No, because Im not crazy.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I would love the PSvita to crush the 3DS in sales, Why?
Simple, the PSvita is what the 3DS could have been but isn't, the PSvita is better in every single regard when compared to the 3DS, and yet the Nintendo brand allows shit hardware to sell.

I know that at the end of the day it's about games, and I agree with that, and it's for this reason I want the PSvita to crush the 3DS, because this would force Nintendo to try a little harder next time, I mean imagine playing all those 3DS games on a Super 3DS which had the power of the PSvita.

No more crappy resolution with that horrible DPI from the year 2000 (it actually surprises me that people love the 3DS XL, despite Nintendo dropping the DPI from what the original 3DS had which was already low and people love it...I just get the feeling that most who buy the 3DSXL must be visually impaired or something), no more ancient resistive touch (the Galaxy note 2 proves you can have both capacitive touch and a stylus, best of both words), No more single analogue slider (for years the PSP got shit for this and yet the 3DS gets a pass), and no more inferior hardware, seriously we live in a time where mobile hardware is powerful, energy efficient and cost effective, there is simply no excuse not to use the most effective parts and re-purpose them for handheld gaming with buttons, rather than going with exotic but inferior hardware.

But back to reality, Nintendo dominates the handheld because they've always dominated the handheld, there is brand trust and brand loyalty, but I do feel the Nintendo is taking it's loyal fans for a ride.

I'm a great believer in competition, competition between companies always give the consumer a great and affordable product, just look at the phone market, Nokia was the king pre-smart phone age, then Apple came out swinging with the Iphone taking a huge portion of Nokias market, then android and it's manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, Sony kicked back taking the rest of Nokia's market , leaving Nokia behind and struggling to catch up. The same thing happened with the TV market, Sony was king back in the CRT days, but the likes of Samsung and LG really dented it's market in the HDTV sector.

This also applies to consoles, again Nintendo dominated the home consoles but lost essentially all it's market to Sony when the PS1 and PS2 dominated their respective generations. The Wii was an anomaly selling gangbusters so fast but tanking in laters year but still reaching 100M, it's all for not because the PS3 and 360 are poised to catch up and surpass it. For this reason it will be a certainty that Nintendo will lose it's dominance in the handheld space, I hope it would be with the PSvita, but if not then something else, and this is a good things because in the end the winners are the consumers.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents, I'd like reiterate, its not that I dislike Nintendo, rather that I like competition because it allows for newer, greater, and afordable products to exist, and this again is a win-win situation for all consumers.

As a Nintendo fan, yes. I want compelling hardware next gen. I don't want another machine like the 3DS. Let's face it, the 3DS is a pretty lame piece of hardware. The 3D is a gimmick, the lack of a second analog is appalling and the resolution of that screen is equivalent to a rock. The games are there though, and they have sold the system. Don't think I'm bagging on the 3DS, because it's one HELL of a system, but I think that Nintendo could have done just as well selling a vita-esque device with Nintendo games.

Except the only thing that really matters; games.

Graphics and all that take a back seat to quality software.
