Well, you bring up a lot of different points in your OP such as systems dying, the mobile market, etc, but to keep it simple I'll just answer your thread title's question: No.

I beleive the Vita deserves more, but not out succeed the 3DS. Ahd to be honest too, I would probably find a little joy if the PS4 failed.

I want both to do well, but no. The Vita doesn't deserve to do better than the 3DS.

I'd like to see the Vita do well, mostly to spite all the people who want it to die.  I know we had several people claim that it would be discontinued at the end of 2013, which obviously isn't going to happen.  I find that amusing.

Honestly, I just really don't like people who want everything else but what they like to die.  I think it's such a childish perspective.  Not only is everything better with competition but you're also talking about the jobs of thousands of people.  I'd like to see everything do well.

I was one of those saying that the 3DS would be just fine eventually, once it got a price cut and some decent software, so, yeah, when I read some of the venom directed toward the Vita, it does kind of piss me off.  

Well... I would like both of the handhelds to do well since I have both handhelds...

But realistically... Sony has virtually abandoned the vita since only lack luster titles are coming out for it even from Sony

Great, it has a ton of indie games but those games are also on other consoles and paying $250 for the console only for 5 good games that is only on vita and not on any other platforms is just not worth it and not to mention the crazy memory card prices 

Most games on the vita's library score 6-7.5/10 with sometimes 8.5 vs majority of the 3ds games library are 8-9.5/10 and the 3ds has even more games

The only reason I am keeping my vita atm is cause of my hopes that a game like FFVII Crisis Core will come out but it is becoming less and less useful everyday (and no... ps1 and psp games shouldn't be a reason to buy the vita)

Would it be nicer to say you want the Vita to die a slow painful death or quickly in it's sleep? Everyone who wants the Vita to die must answer this question so we can learn how much of a horrible person you are.
