Ever one for stirring the pot, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter loves to make predictions about the future of the games industry. This time, Pachter has shared his thoughts on whether the PS4′s remote play will save the Vita.

Speaking on his show Pach-Attack, he initially said “No, next question”, before continuing:

I think if they made the PS Vita in different colors it wouldn’t sell more. The only thing that’s going to sell more Vitas or compelling software. God, I shudder to tell you how many units of Vita were sold this month, but the answer is ‘not very many’. The Vita is dead, it’s over. It’s a really great device that nobody thinks they need so no one’s buying it – it is really slick, if you get one you will like it.

Do you agree, or are you planning to pick up a PS Vita for that very reason? Let us know your thoughts below.

You know, if people would stop doing as you do, and post messages about how he is an idiot, then he might just go away, and go and give industry advice and bad predictions, to paid clients.

What I don't agree with is posting a Pachter post.  That is what I don't agree with.  I won't be too harsh though, because a Pachter post is a bug zapper and myself am a bug going into it.

Patcher is basically paid to say Ps4, xbox and tablets are the only viable platforms, just because those are the only platforms on which american publishers are willing to invest.

What in particular about them is funny?

Pachter jokes and claims that the system will be discontinued within a year.

While Pachter jokes are justified in my view due to his horrendous calls in the past, I agree it's absurd to say Vita will be discontinued any time soon. Sony have invested too much in it, they simply can't afford to abort it now.
