Forums - General Discussion - Clinton vs. Obama: Who's gonna win?

New Time Poll shows:

Support among Democrats:

Clinton 42% - Obama 48%

With that kind of margin, superdelegates would have to vote Obama in.

Head-to-head against McCain:

Clinton 46% - McCain 46%
Obama 48% - McCain 41%

Obama is indeed, at this early stage, the favorite.

Oh well. If I am to vote, I'm afraid I might have to go with Obama with these new data.

It looked from reading it that it was Democratic favor for Clinton over Obama.  You might have those first two switched.  That could all change in the next 2 weeks though.

Which company did that poll? I am really hoping that one is correct, although of course anything can happen. Rasmussen released one today which showed Obama and Clinton tied (44-44,) McCain leading Clinton by 2 (46-44) and Obama leading McCain by 3 (46-43). It seems like their polls fluctuate widely though, as McCain lead Clinton by 11 just a week ago.

it ver hard to tell whos gonna win because they are good canidates to voteres and they have a hard time deciding
John Mccain however has won the Repl. Nomination

Neither will win the actual election, but between them...Obama.

A black president is more realistic than a woman president, IMO. (not to sound sexist)

Why? From an outsiders point of view it seems clear that the democratic nominee will win due to the mess that Bush has made damaging the republican party.

@Stranne. American politics are in general a lot further to the right than European, Australian and New Zealand politics.

I have heard this a lot for "outsiders". I don't know if it's culture or what, but in the US, the person trumps the party. If Obama wins the primary, he will most likely win the presidency. Clinton however, never will.

The way it works over here is during the primaries, all candidates are civil towards each other. They will poke a little at each other, but they don't do so much that if that person wins, they have hurt there party. Once it's republican vs Democrat, all the gloves come off. Both run a smear campaign, and by the time you go vote, you are just voting for the one you hate the least. It's sad, but that's how it works.

Clinton has to much dirt to survive, and not enough to throw at McCain. It's hard to slam a war hero over here, and not look like an ass. Clinton can attack his policy, but has to tip toe around his character. Clinton on the other hand has no character, so destroying her is easy.

So my opinion, is the next president will be Obama. If Clinton wins the primary, it will be McCain.

I believe America is not ready for a black president.Where as a woman they could be ready, good old England had a women leader a good 20 years ago.

it not who i am but what i do that defines me. you'll never walk alone you'll never walk alone walk on walk on.

Unfortunately I would guess Obama is going to win the nom. Though it could come down to Pennsylvania where I am pretty certain Clinton would win.

^I would say Hillary is the Wii where Obama would be an Atari 2600 since he would be the most ineffective president since Jimmy Carter the first president of the 2600 gen.

My brain hurt after reading this post. Didn't understand one word. Can you redo this - in English? Thanks!

America will never be ready for a black president. Parents are never ready to be parents ... and soldiers are never, ever ready for war - but all three just happen.

Being prepared for situations is key. And Obama has the momentum. America wants change - and change is what we'll get. McCain vs. Obama? Hmm ... the only way it will be a close race is if Huckabee is the VP. He'll get the conservative vote that way. Otherwise, if he goes with Libermann, it will bomb like Vanilla Ice's rap career.

First things first: from Obama's wins in some Southern states, it's very obvious that race/gender will play no part in this election. Thankfully, it looks like America has got past serious racial and gender-based discrimination.

In terms of policies, genuineness, sanity, openess, Obama wins on every count.

With that said, they're both frauds, so vote Ron Paul.

P.S. the elections are 100% rigged.

LOL, and people wonder why Ron Paul gets a bad rap. I think when your followers say crazy things, it hurts the candidate.

Exactly what I was saying earlier...kinda.  I get the feeling he might be joking though, poking fun at the concept.  maybe.
