Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Killer Instinct is a 'frontline game', not a 'cash in', says Microsoft

Isn't that how all console makers work? Unless of course devs just make games for Sony and Nintendo in hopes of receiving nothing in return except high-fives and pats on the back if the game sells a million copies.

i think this wont be a cash in game is if they would get rid of the free to play thing

If it was frontline it would be a complete game on retail. Digital only release with only a couple of characters will not help it on the fighting game scene. Its as good as dead on arrival.
Nice nugget otherwise though.

Stop spewing nonsense. The full game is available from day one, not just "a couple of characters". Stop trying to downplay the game just because it's not coming to your console of choice.

The fact that you have the option to purchase only a few characters if you so wish is a good thing. For people who don't have a lot of money, and really want to play KI the fact that they don't have to spend $60 all at once to enjoy the game is an amaing choice to have. There is, however, nothing stopping anyone from buying the full game.

If you're concerned about digital only, I'm fairly certain it was already stated that a retail release would be happening as well, just not right away, so you can relax.

I'm impressed with what double helix has shown of KI. Day one for me.

In another news:
The misinformation campaign by the usual suspects is in full swing.
The S.T.A.G.E.( Scientists, Technologists and Artists Generating Exploration) who have an opinion on everything although sometimes it doesn't know what it's talking about. Some believe that they're delirious.

Also confronted was NEM(New Evangelical Movement), who say that they stand by their beliefs and they won't back down from drinking tha Kool Aid.

We tried to reach Navy officer John a.k.a. John-117, but we were told he had bigger fishes to fry. A report says that his suit is filled with *ucks, but he isn't giving none.

Real K.I. fans will pick this game up no matter what as long they keep those combos so peculiar to KI series.

No, it isn't. While Nintendo is also a greedy corporation that pumps out rehashes constantly, Sony has always the gamers' best interests in mind and never does anything for strictly monetary reasons. By gamers, for gamers.

Nintendo and Sony have more successful internally made first party than Microsoft.

I am not a fan of the game so i couldnt care less wich platform is getting it, but i recognise a game that can be interesting for those that like it. I will just let you to wonder why games like MK komplete edition, SF4 Arcade edition, Ultra street fighter 4 come out on retail. You have a long ponder on that and try to picture how that is important to tournament organizers that need to have multiple machines running with the same version of the game.
