This may have just been a hallucination to cover up for their incompetence though, since it sounds really stupid, and I haven't heard a thing about it since.

Probably a cover up in response to people asking why Nintendo's announced games aren't taking advantage of the Gamepad.

And when the games don't show any advantages of the Gamepad Iwata will say "Please Understand"

Both Yoshiaki Koizumi and Shigeru Miyamoto have unannounced games in the pipeline for the next year or so, but I think we can be pretty sure we won't see them in 2013. I expect these are the expanded audience type games, the next Wii Sports if you will. I can't wait to see them, but I'm not betting on them tomorrow.

I wonder if Iwata will end of with "And one more thing. We have acquired Atlus. See you next time!"

Probably because there has been an increased focus on pointless semantics in the last few months. Also, "potential consumers" have always pissed me off.

It  can only get better.

It also gives you time to get ammo whenever PS4 and Xbone have their dry spells 6 months after launch.

more Wind Waker infos and revealing the fourth Kong would be the bomb for me. And I personally don't think this is what Kamiya meant with W101 Direct.

Looking forward to hearing/seeing more about Super Mario 3D World. Hopefully there's a surprise or two thrown in at the end.

hopefully they show off some 3D Mario levels that look compelling. So far it's been pretty basic.
