Pretty sure heres why they would have said no
"On November 18, 2012, Sony Pictures announced it has passed $4 billion with the success of releases: Skyfall, The Amazing Spider-Man, 21 Jump Street, Men in Black 3, Hotel Transylvania, Underworld: Awakening, The Vow, and Resident Evil: Retribution"

Thats $4 billion just from films releasing at the cinema, doesn't include home releases and all the other bits and pieces.

They had Grown Ups 2 this year and Elysium is still comming that will probably a success as well, they are probably doing really good
