Wow, restecp for mr Clooney all of a sudden. Didn't know he had a brain, that's a good thing to know.

You do not know what vertical integration is, right ?

The gaming division is boosting Sony as a whole, for examples on Blurays and DVDs. Of course the game division looses money, but with the cross marketing and vertical integration, it's a nice boost to Sony as a whole.

Should have done it.. as a whole sony is undervalued cause of the different divisions.. making it harder for every division.. like their Financial Services they should spin (part) off the Entertainment Division... It's not like Sony wouldn't be in control.. it would make the parent company stronger and the then created daughter company also stronger.. the incoming cash could have been used to help create this "One Sony".. I can't see any reason not to do it cause they already did it with their Financial Services..

This bit:

Like I said though, I could have misread their intentions.

 

But what do you mean by "become the new apple"? 

I mean they could have a highly recognisable, unified product line. Products with similar characteristics (iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac), but under the PS or some other recognisable brand. It worked pretty well for Apple, and the "One Sony strategy" sounds like that could be a real possibility.

Sony is getting Money for every game that is sold on PS4. So the dont Need to have every game profitable.

Good, most companies are merging together, so Sony shouldn't split. The guy who suggested it seemed to be clueless anyway.
