The poll was taken I believe during E3 which was at the peak of Sony's hype. The poll really doesn't mean anything now sense Xbox went through that 180, the numbers now would be much closer then in that poll. PS4 would still be in the lead by a big margin but not as big as it was.

While its pretty obvious that the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One pre-release, saying the PS4 will be like the PS2 is extremely silly.

There will never, ever be another PS2.

Ps2 is overrated and glorified, I was ready to throw mine out once I'd got my hands on a Gamecube controller, now that was a fun console and very underrated.

numbers right now are pretty useless, but if a large enough group of people adopt 1 over the other, it could have a snowball effect when the more casuals ask their friends who are more hardcore.

but then again, didnt we have a preorder tally like a week ago? that was pretty close to 3-1

If PS4 can reach %50 market share I'll be surprised. MS and Sony just get too similar of software and network capabilities to get the masses to go to one and not the other. Also 3rd party games like COD, BF, and sports are too popular for people to choose a console based on exclusives. Sony exclusives have more power than people realize though considering PS3 has the lead over 360 now despite being more expensive the entire gen and having a bad reputation on their network (they really aren't that different IMO. With network, price, and head start advantages gone this gen MS will have a hard time. I mean it's a $300 swing in price comparison compared to the start of last gen.

I agree with Seece on this one.

The PS2 domination happened once, and something like it will most likely never happen again. Nintendo was already on a downward trend before the GameCube, Sony opened up strong with the PS1, and MS was a newcomer. It was obvious who was going to win big time.

It's silly to think something like the PS2 will ever come along again.

HAHA i figured this one might drive em crazy but i only wanna see if they believe the ps2 era could be repeated in terms of the dominance!

Sony will Dominate but not like the PS2.. there will never be another PS2... heck it may not even be another PS3 if 80 dollar games have anything to say about it... there will be a lot less Console gamers this gen.. (Note I mean whatever the numbers the PS3 will have total at the true end of it's shelf life..) I am not saying it won't do as good as the PS3.. but I am saying there is a shot that it might not .. of course.. that is just one idea...right now.. anything can technically potentially happen..

I'd like to see a more recent poll, but I think it's pretty clear the ps4 is favored by a large margin online still.

it is if you just dig deep you will see as of now on most sites ps4 is still at the top actually more than 1 million has already been pre ordered i think it number 3 on best sold for the year on amazon and that has to be a whole lot! n more gaming stores online!
