true, he didnt certainly bash it, he didn't give an explanation of why it dont interest him as well to be fair. Oh yea, this is the first time im excited for Sonic, i didn't play the last installments at all. Why dont it appeal to you? It has that old school vibe+ Its looking great, tons of replay value as well! Its Sonic Galaxy!!!!

I think I like the idea of Sonic games more than I actually like them.  I love 3D platformers, so I always think Sonic would be right up my alley.

It wasn't.  I bought Sonic Colours and didn't have much fun with it.  Then I bought Sonic Generations and didn't have much fun with it.  Picked up Sonic Heroes in CEX for a few quid and it gave me a headache.

Sonic Lost World has the additional task of being on a console I don't own, so it has to sell me on the console as well, so it's an uphill struggle.

I'd be interested in the 3DS version (I'm planning on getting a 3DS sooner than a Wii-U), but seeing how gimped LEGO City was compared to the Wii-U release, I'm gonna wait for some reviews before I pass judgement.

That's the problem I guess for some people. Well at least for me, just making it look like Sonic Galaxy doesn't make me like it, in fact in only makes me think of the fact that they're using concepts of Mario Galaxy instead of making something completely new; therefore my interest just wanes away because I already experienced a Mario Galaxy-like game, twice. I was never a big fan of Sonic, though I have played the games, but I would never play them again after finishing them. Old-school vibe doesn't do it for me (several games supposedly have that, and yet they don't phase me), nor does this predicted "replay value", because I have to play it first before I judge its "replay value". Mario Galaxy had a great replay value, but I doubt this one will match or top that experience. Not because I like Mario more than Sonic, but because absolutely no Sonic game created by the Sonic Team has ever "wowed" me before. Could they do it? Don't know, but so far they have not hyped me like how the EAD Tokyo Team hyped me with Galaxy back in 2006.

I'll give it a chance, but so far it's not a "Day1, Must Buy!" for me. :)

Well, they were meant to be different games anyway.  Though I don't think the 3DS version would have been able to play the Wii U version anyway.  It wasn't really a bad title for the price it was sold at, so I wasn't really disappointed because I was kind of already expecting that amount of content for the price tag.

Yeah, but that's the same case as here, is it not?  The 3DS version of Sonic is a different game because the 3DS can't handle the Wii-U version?

So that's why I'm going to wait and see if it's as bad as "let's cover the game with N64-era fog" or whether they do a better job.

Sonic is supposed to use concepts from mario.  It was a topic of contention in the old days, but now it feels right.  The two went separate ways when they entered the 3D realm, it's good to see their paths cross like this.  Sonic lost world looks to do what sonic does best... Compete with mario at his own game!  This galaxy style makes the world less restricted.  That's why I'm excited. =)

any chance of a chao-garden world? I seriously doubt they'll do it I'm personally excited over the touch screen possibilties with those adorable virtual pets! I was a huge fan of that aspect in the dc game.

Am I the only one that doesn't really see find the appeal in this game? Can someone explain why so many people are excited for it?

I'm with you dude

do you own a 3ds or WiiU?

I own a Wii-U, but have to find a single game that's worth spending $$ money on. Honestly, mine is back in it's box because of tha reason. Most of the "good" games for the system are already playable on PS3, where I can at least earn trophies for them, whereas the very very few that actually are exclusive hold no appeal. I guess I've seen enough Mario with last 5 additions over 1 year, and a little yellow astronaut runnign around telling colored sperms to kill stuff just doesn't appeal to me. I might see how X does in reviews, but beyond that, Nintendo is just doing what they did with the Wii: completely forgetting 3rd party support, and then just lazily slapping slightly modified versions of the same games over and over again onto the console. If Zelda-U is actually good (more like TP and not a complete pos like Skyward Sword), I might look into that as well.

I honestly have no input for that.  I was actually just trying to respond to LEGO City independently of the topic at hand. lol

I don't mind series taking concepts from other series, but this time it has gotten too many similarities to a point where more of the same would make it difficult to create any hype aside from mainly the die-hard sonic fans, which pale in comparison to Mario. And compete with Mario at his own game? I'm not trying to be mean, but competition requires a challenge, and comparing the hype among Mario Galaxy back in 06 and Lost World right now....well....there's no competition! ;)
