In Japan, Square Enix just announced Dragon Quest Monsters 2, a numeric sequel in its popular Dragon Quest Monsters spinoff series. The game's "general director" is Yuji Horii, and it will feature monster designs by Akira Toriyama. It's also being developed in-house by Square Enix.

 

Looking at the page it looks to be for 3DS. Considering these are typicaly million sellers, I think 3DS will get a pretty large Hardware boost from this.  Being developed in house by SE means they are at least taking the franchise seriously.  Thoughts?

So that's another one for the 3DS, it would seem.

Surely with all this, DQXI will be a 3DS title as well.

According to VGchartz, but that was a spinoff of a spinoff.  This one should sell much better.

A remake of a spinoff of a spinoff, I think. At least it's a new game this time, spinoff or not.

I had the first Dragon Quest Monsters for the GB and it was awesome! I really hope it comes oversea!
