Same reason why people make comparison threads about a thriving console vs a dying one from the opposite company

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'd say someone who doesn't participate in all sections of the forum is worse. I mean, to not even take enough interest to read a thread on "the competition"? That's a real fanboy.

well of course, i was trying to show SSBB can outsell it, wen i first got here two users always got on my case so i did a comparison, thats all . I dont dedicate my time posting every time i see terrible news. In fact I post threads about deals so people can go out and save money, i did not only nintendo threads, but sony and M$ as well. Even though im a huge Nintendo fan, i'll play both other company games cuz they have great exclusives. I just didn't like PSASBR. Yes i played it, more than 10 times. Thats just 1 game i feel like a complete kick in the balls from Sony to Nintendo. But that wont stop me from liking Gravity Rush/GoW/ and Infamous (never played but hell, it looks great).

That's just not true. I'd say making a thread and heavily defending your opinion is even worse. You already told your opinion in the OP, no need to constantly defend it. You don't have to reply to every comment, hell you don't have to reply to ANY comment at all. A thread creator is responsible for creating a topic for discussion and that's about it.

I do agree that if you have a problem with the OP you shouldn't be posting in the thread at all. Comments like "Another Username345 Thread" aren't necessary and you're better off ignoring the thread completely.

Here are the types of threads I myself avoid:
-How long will it take for game x to outsell game y
-Will game Z outsell games A-L on Platform Y combined?
-Threads Complaining about Negativity
-Threads with whiny titles 
-Normally, threads like this one.

Oftentimes, it's not even worth bringing up, since the same points just get hit over and over again. I imagine it requires a certain level of boredom to spend so much time bashing other people's consoles, which is kind of ironic, when you think about it.
