Nintendo is lazy and their laziness is starting to catch up with them. Nearly 40 years in gaming and they only truly have 3 memorable characters and a slew of overrated games.

That's still three memorable characters more than Sony has.

I'm getting bored of Nintendo because they stopped creating new and exciting experiences that fall under my preferences. Not because I'm "growing past them," but because I feel like their recent iterations of my favorite franchises have left a lot to be desired.

Thank god for the VC.

This exactly.

I will buy a Wii U when it has three games I want. So far it will have one.

that'd be impossible for me. during the n64 era i got bored from the lack of games. so far with wii u that hasnt happened to me. the launch ports will keep me busy awhile, the steady stream of exclusives coming once a month have been nice, wii back log is still there, and my favorite.. the virtual console has me fully captivated.

Im bored of Mario... and that's it. Super Mario 3D world looks extremely lazy compared to the galaxy games, and Sunshine, and looks more like its part of the New Super Mario Bros series.

Nintendo still makes some of my favorite games, and many i'm looking forward to get on Wii U. The new Zelda game, Monolith Soft's X, and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem.

I never get bored of Nintendo games. How could I? I so rarely play them.

No. Nintendo innovates. They may use the same characters and franchises but the gameplay often varies greatly between two titles in the same franchise. Also, they're one of the few major developers around today who isn't just making endless yearly iterations of bland, overdone FPS games or interactive-movie games that practically play themselves and you spend more time watching than actually playing. Also, they aren't afraid to use color....no bland brown, grey, post-apocalyptic crap. Also there's just a unique level of polish and a distinct "feel" to all of their games...they just feel good to play. It's like the difference between 3D platforming in ANY Kingdom Hearts game versus ANY 3D Mario game...precision, feel, and polish...it's the Nintendo difference. I'm not saying that other developers don't make fantastic games...they do..there are some INCREDIBLE games available for Sony and Microsoft's systems and some really talented 3rd and 1st party studios from other companies...but, the very BIGGEST hits on those other systems just don't appeal to me in the same way Nintendo's games do. By the end of this year I'll have bought 11 3DS games and 11 Wii U games....so no, I can't really say Nintendo bores me in any capacity (except for my one pet peeve which is the New Super Mario Bros. series....gah...I'm not even going to get into THAT one...). I just love Nintendo's games! I fully respect and understand people who feel otherwise, though. To each their own.

I actually read all that, and thought it was spot on.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

Nope.

Smash, Zelda, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc etc etc keep me going.

Mario depends on the mood I am in.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Not really. Some of their franchises have certainly become stale (like the god-awful New Super Mario bros. games) but there are still plenty of games to enjoy and be excited about, particularly when it comes to handhelds.

I will say, though, that the fact that a panning camera and catsuits are now considered by Nintendo to be big gameplay innovations is cause for concern. I was one of those people that really liked the experimental GC era Nintendo.

I became bored of platformers years ago, which, obviously, is kind of where Nintendo lives. I also became bored with flat, shallow, caricature-type characters and games with static settings and storylines. I think my discovery of RPGs is mostly responsible for that.

However, a lot of Nintendo's newer IPs have my attention, particularly with the 3DS. It's mostly the old, stand-by stuff that I couldn't care less about (other than Zelda and perhaps Metroid).

But, yeah, as a company they're exceedingly boring. I swear to god, some of the Nintendo Direct things could have been produced in the 1980s.

Pretty much my whole fusteration with Nintendo, I feel they never evolve their IPs, they feel more like object. This is why I enjoy Luigi Mansion Dark Moon, Mario and Luigi, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Super Mario Striker, Paper Mario, Kid Icarus Rising more then the games created by Nintendo main dev team. I love the gameplay but also want to learn more about the characters, see them react to their surrounding

I think you accidentally added something that doesn't belong.
