Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo's Wii passes 100m units!

Wow...that's pretty phenomenal I must admit. Props to the Wii.

It's about time!

If Nintendo supported it to the end, this thing would be game boy range.

Yep, with enough support from them I agree.

Heck, the Wii would've likely passed PS1 numbers now if Ninty had only made NSMBU a Wii game instead and released it late 2011 or 2012.

Finally and good to see after seemed like a formality 3 years ago. Should have enough steam left to just pass the PS1 at some point now.

Next big number for current system is 80 million. So, first to 80 million? PSP? PS3? X360?

Ill go a step further, imagine if nintendo didnt reject the kinect technology, it would have been very close to ps2 numbers

Congrats, Wii, on your long struggle towards 100 Million units. It would've happened faster if Nintendo didn't stop caring about you. But, alas. The past is the past, and this is the present.

I still have my original Day 1 Wii, too!

going to pass the ps2 any day now

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I'm so tired of combined handheld and home console charts. They're not the same market, their sales shouldn't be combined.

They are both gaming consoles. They both cater to the gaming market. Many people buy both Handhelds and Home Consoles.

Arguments against Handhelds being compared to Home Consoles are just bad.

Well done Wii.

Wait a moment,

Does Chartz count GB and GBC as the same handheld?

I was about to ask the same thing, i always considered them to be seperate because the GBC has its own line of games that are not compatible with the regular GC systems. Really curious to see how well GBC sold on its own, their was a huge marketing campaign back in the day.

OT About time, I remember not to long ago when people swore it would by pass PS1 and 2 sales, good times. still has a shot at catching 1 though.
