I'm starting to get butthurt, after two locks and a lack of signs of intelligence in general. The people who called the Vita a failure after a few months were mistaken. The people who called the PS3 a failure after a few months were mistaken. The people calling the U a failure are as mistaken as a person calling the PS4 a failure.
Yet everyone joins the parade in the "Is the U a failure thread", and the mods are happy, just because it's a Nintendo console.

Oh please. People still call Vita a failure and the jury is still because of how poorly it's selling.
The Wii U has plenty of chances to rebound, but it hasn't done so yet.
It's get better. I promise.

It is fair enough to say you are worried about the Wii U's future.
To give the OPINION that the Wii U is a failure in your eyes, for your own reasons is also fine - for some reason this seems to be strangely taboo on this board.
Obviously, none of us can predict the future but we should be allowed to speculate.
Too much planning, and you'll never get anything done.

Too early to say for sure, we'll know for sure by the end of next year I think.
I would say it's a failure up to this point though. I mean X1 and PS4 are going to launch with what is probably a larger library than Wii U has managed to build in a year, and looking ahead to next years plans, MS and Sony seem much more prepared with big titles than Nintendo was their first year. They could have really capitalised on the head start, but failed miserably. Lacking first party. Practically no third party. Now it has to face stiff competition come the holidays. Competition with more powerful hardware, with no huge price advantage for the Wii U (PS4 us only 50 bucks more). Competition with bigger, more appealing games (Destiny, Titanfall....). Competition that has the cool "new" factor. Competition which will be much more heavily marketed.
Wii U is definitely in trouble if you ask me. They should cut the price before the holidays.

Sadly most of those games got delayed but that just means the end of this year is stacked and will see a very solid turnaround. An exclusive is being released every three weeks starting with Pikmin 3, that plus advertising will give Wii U significant momentum leading up to the holidays. In Nov/Dec we have DKC, 3D World, Fit U which all have potential to sell over 5 million units and some nice holiday deals/bundles will ensure strong holiday sales.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

People keep calling the Vita a failure, yet even it is doing better than Wii-U. With PS4, chances are that it's only going to do better. But we'll see.
